O2 are the biggest Network provider in the UK, they were previously BT Cellnet until the Spanish company Telefonica took them over in 2006 and renamed them O2. The O2 contracts are very competitive and start from just £10 a month for a 24 month O2 contract, this will give you 50 minutes of call time and unlimited texts. The smartphone O2 contracts range from £30 to £65 but this includes a free bolt on for data and unlimited WiFi making these O2 contract deals very attractive. If you do not want to be tied to an O2 contract then you can choose the pay as you go option, these are great for the younger generation. When you purchase your pay and go phone from the O2 shop you can choose from text and web, favourite place, your country and O2 unlimited tariffs. This means every time you top up you will receive free extras for example if you chose the text and web you will get 300 UK texts and 500 megabytes of internet browsing for free plus the use of your £10 top up.

O2 were lucky enough to receive exclusivity of the Apple iPhone and the iPhone 3GS but unfortunately this time scale ran out so other top mobile operators including Vodafone and 3 were allowed to start selling the 3GS after October 2009. This was a very lucrative deal for O2 at the time it would have been a massive blow to there ego and pockets.
