The single worst customer service i have ever come across. I bought an Iphone didn't like it and agreed to swap with my daughter her upgrade to a blackberry bold. O2 said in shop unlocking iphone easy 'Form online'. Form said 10 days to unlock so rang they said 7 days. After 7 days had on line chat with 23 people!!! Eventually Guru Kai In writing guaranteed phone would be unlocked within 24 hours. Now 72 hours later and another 3 HOURS on the phone still not unlocked.
THEIR CUSTOMER SERIVE PEOPLE HAVE NO POWER AND NO INTEREST IN DOING ANYTHING BUT TELLING YOU THEY 'appreciate understand and apologise' but can do nothing or as I have said they lie blatantly as shown above.
I am returning the phone today and after 10+ years moving to T- Mobile does anyone at 02 care or have pride enough to want to sort my problem and their bad service - NO!

I started of with sim card with 02 which is £15 a month on 600 voice and free to all land and also free text message to all next work. And after 1 year I decided to extend my contract, this is the biggest mistake I have made because since the I have not paid nothing less than £40 a month which is the cheapest bill at point in time I paid £90, then I decided to get internet is even making it worse. I cancel the internet yet they charge me again for data which I never open myphone for no reason now am even paying for data than when I am having internet. I did a big mistake of my life for getting 02. The customer service is worst ever. You want to check your minute on the phone so that you don't want to exceed you limit the wrap will not open so that you can use more than your agree limit. This is a rip off. I still have 1 more year to go with this contract, I call the cancellation team department to ask how much to pay if I want to cancel for 40 mins they kept me on singing machine. Wow thank God I have another provider which I have been in contract with for years now and it is nothing like 02.they need to improve their performance with my experience I can't introduce anybody.can't wait for the contract to end.

Bought a Blackberry 9780 for my son for Christmas. My son particularly wanted this model and not the later model, so purchased this with a contract with 02 at the end of October to ensure he had it for Christmas. He opened the box on Christmas day to discover the trackpad was not working. O2 refused to replace the phone and would only offer a repair. Was constantly told by customer service that this was the 'rule' and after 30 days the phone would need to be sent for repair. They confirmed that they could see from their records that the phone had not been used until Christmas day, but would not offer an exchange as if they broke their 'rules' their rules would be worthless! When I bought the phone, I asked my son to try it (as I do not have a clue how they worked!!) He refused to touch it as he said he was so excited to own one, he didn't want to see it before Christmas day. I now have an extremely disappointed son, without a Christmas present and 02 couldn't care less! Terrible customer service, promised returned calls never happened, constantly told about their rules and given no respect as a loyal customer with three contracts with them. Hope 02 have a really nice Christmas and would like to take this opportunity to thank them for explaining their 'rules' so many times. Hope their kids got they wanted for Christmas looks like my son will need to wait several weeks for his! A brand new phone, never been used (charger still in sealed wrapper!!), needs to be sent for repair, does not seem right to me!

I originally signed up for a 24month business contract with the FREE upgrade at 12months! My upgrade is due in jan 2012 so I phoned today to get an idea of what I'd have to pay to get the 4S or the HTC phone I was interested in.
Only to be told that I'd have to pay £280+vat if not more plus sign another 24month contract! When I originally signed my contract in store I asked and asked if there was any catches or charges and I was told no!
I asked if I'd have to pay more for the handset then normal or any other charges again I was told NO not at all. (e.g no more then £140 for a top handset)
And that I only have to finish the remaining 12months. There now saying this is not the case at all. I've had to email the complaints department and am waiting to hear back as customer services on the phone where less then helpful!
I feel cheated an scammed and it's not right that a big company is allowed to lie to there customers.
Ive been with 02 for years even before a business contract but I won't take out another now no way.
I've also read the fine print of my Original contract &there is nothing in there what the customer services said today!

I feel I have been misled by their free upgrade offer ie after 12 months in a 24 months business contract. When I have just asked for my free upgrade on my iphone 4 on a business contract, I was told that if i wanted to upgrade to an iphone 4s, I would have to pay 290 pounds plus vat and take out a new 24 month contract. I was told that if i did not want to pay anything I could only have one of their crapper phones.. where's the free upgrade in that?.. 350pounds isnt free and a change to a lesser phone than an iphone 4 isnt an upgrade. i signed onto the contract in the belief that I was entitled to a free upgrade after 12 months... that was part and parcel of why I signed on the dotted line.
On pressing these points home and clarifying these points for around 15 minutes, i was told that if I didnt want to take up my "upgrade" TO A CRAPPER PHONE, , I could have 10 pounds a month knocked off my bill instead... talk about changing the goal posts after you've taken your shot... the only way to get something done would seem to be complaining online as o2 con dont seem to want to do anything about this just now.. so I would encourage more people to get these posts up.. their business needs to be affected by reviews like this.. the more the better.. i feel i have been conned . If I knew what their idea of a free upgrade was when I signed up, I wouldnt have signed at all .. an upgrade on an iphone4 is iphone4s or better.. free means free... except of you are an o2 customer...

Appalling service from West Quay, Southampton shop. The staff believe they are not subject to the provisions of the Sale of Goods Act 1979. It was suggested that mobile phones should not be in kitchens (even when in pockets) nor in the owners' pockets when outside in the rain because of the risk of water damage. It seems to me that the phones are hardly of satisfactory quality if that is so. Avoid this shop at all costs if you want to retain your sanity!

ok didn`t understand it all but went along with it, last week received a message saying they had debited £10 from my account, so am left with £1.00 credit on my phone at the moment, why are they allowed to take £10 of MY money off my phone . Can anyone from 02 explain WHY. Also how do I go back to my normal Pay &Go, £10 month ? ? ?

Upgraded in Sept 2010 online to a blackberry that on the website was £35 a month less £7.50 discount a month. My first bill didnt show this just the remainding discount from my old contract was advised is bring started on my next bill, on my next bill I received no discount and had to pay the other discount back so my bill is double this month. Rang O2 and they said unless I can provide proof they cant do anything, the email you get doesnt state any prices for the tariff. O2 are hopeless the guys who work there dont give too shits

Been a loyal o2 customer since they were cellnet. That's a lot of years!!!! Guess what, apparently, that does not matter to them. My contract is up for renewal, and I was looking for a new deal. The details that they have on record are wrong, and when I pointed this out I was told that I WAS WRONG. I think I know my own details. according to them I received a new phone last year. The last phone I received from them was about 5 years ago-the W810. The other thing is I was put on to an 18month contract, which as stated is now up. The details I was told was that I was getting £100 credit to be added to my account, and £10 line rental for the length of the contract. I was told at the time that this was a special deal for my loyalty. What I got was 6 months free line rental and I've been charged at least £15 per month for the remainder of the contract. The point of my rant is: "Do not trust O2, they seem to misinterpret and twist what is required by the customer" I'm now looking for a new supplier, as the O2 upgrade team were a joke.

I am having problems with my phone at the moment. About 2 months ago I bought iphone 3gs contract with O2. I had so many troubles with making calls. its was always failing. I spoke to customer services and asked me change settings and restore netwok settings and ect, did not solve my problems. And then asked me to take it to O2 store for repaire, they asked me to take it to Apple store which I did. Apple gave me a new phone and still had problems. Still trying to solve my problems. Spoke to so many customer service advisors not helpful at all. I have to go another 16 months and paying considerbaly more money. Even when I spoke to o2 store they do not listen to customer service. I just do not know what to do. Once they sell the phone, not seems to care about you.

O2 is owned by a Spanish company - Telefonica - which by many over here in Spain is regarded as the worst telephone company out. They have no regard for the way they behave - will take money from your bank even when you cancel your contract - are not bothered about helping you - will pretend to help but do nothing except pass you from one dept. to another. They are seen as the absolute PITS - thankfully there are now other companies to go for who respect you and are more than willing to help you and are much cheaper for the same or similar service - not surprisingly they are run by Brits . avoid 02 as it sounds like they are doing the same in the UK as here in Spain.

I have been with O2 for about 6-7 years always happy with them till today. I rang up to upgrade my contract and phone, was on 600min, 1000 text , free o2 – o2 calls and free internet for £22 a month. Spoke to the lady who told me I was not on 600mins but 400min (not what I was lead to believe) and that my loyalty has been removed! (not happy) so she offered me the same deal but at the raised price of £32.00 a month.. Then asked what phone I would like. I had seen the Sony Ericson w995, she then added that this would cost me £100 if I wanted that phone!!!!!!!! 6 years of been with them and their raising my contract and asking me to pay for a phone! I phoned round and spoke to orange who offered me the Sony Ericson w995 free, 1000 text, 900mins and free internet for £25 a month. Ok by me! Rang to cancel my contract spoke to a very rude man, who then offered me all sorts of deals, free this, free that and free home broadband... he got down to £25 pound but still with not with the same phone or mins. If they could offer me this in the first place I maybe wouldn’t be leaving, I want the best deal they can offer first time!!! after 6 years with them or even 6 months with them not when I wanting to leave. I said I wasn’t interested, they had their chance to offer me a good deal at first instead they tried to bend me over! He then was very very rude mumble at me and hung up! Orange here I come. Seems like there only interest in you if you’re a new customer not a loyal customer!

Have been with o2 for years and i have never had any problems always helpful coverage you can count on when others fail, yes there tariffs could do with an over haul but they will try and suit your life to your useage and not what they can get from you.
There o2 broad band is also good with free phone number for any queries. And they are always very helpful

Who ever buys O2 phones please always keep your reciepts and contracts. Never loose them. I have been with O2 about 2 years now and about to finish my 3rd Year and i rang them up for an upgrade and was told that i am on an 18 month contract. I hate 18 month contract and know i have never signed up for one. They have done this to me the 3rd time now. I had to argue with the representative on the phone and then had to fax my reciept over to prove i am on an 18 month contract. I have come across a few people where O2 have used the same tactics. Be very carefull. I wont be upgrading this year and will be cancelling my contract.
BE CAREFULL.

I have had very bad experiences with O2, I had a fault on my phone that no one seemed to care about, out of all the people I spoke too no one seemed to be able to help me even though I had pushed all the correct buttons to get me through to the correct section, after having no luck I asked for an O2 supervisor but they refused to put me through and as of yet no one had called me back as promised.
The funny thing is O2 seemed a lot more interested in me when I wanted to cancel my contract and move to another network.

The English speaking O2 customer service team are very professional and any problems can be sorted by whoever answers the phone.
Unfortunately O2 don’t do the best deals on contract tariffs like there competitors.
I think compared to Carphone warehouse reviews I have read recently O2 are much better.
I have been a customer directly through O2 for 6 years, my tariffs are very good and easy to understand, there network coverage is also very good.
O2 have made using my phone abroad easy to understand too, making my charges very clear so I don’t have any nasty surprises when I come home.
O2 Tariffs
O2 have special online tariffs which as you can guess from the name can only be purchased online. 02 tariffs range from 18 to 24 months, the longer you commit too the more minutes and text 02 will through into your bundle. For £35 a month 02 will give you 600 minutes and 1000 texts per month, this is based on an 18 month contract. If this is not quite enough for you there is an online 45 tariff which allows you 1200 minutes and 1000 texts per minute. Both these tariffs give you unlimited O2 to 02 calls and free online itemised billing.
