BlackBerry Bold 9700 is the latest handset that is expected to carry forward the legacy of the smart phones from the house BlackBerry. This mobile phone giant is known for their QWERTY devices and hence the excitement gets doubled when there is a new announcement. Bold 9700 is looking promising that is combining the best of QWERTY experience with 250 mega bytes of flash memory and 3.2 mega pixel camera. This series of BlackBerry handset can work with different carriers as it is supportive to both the versions of UMTS/HSDPA and quad-band EDGE /GPRS /GSM. Making calls by using UMA is also possible as the device is also supportive to Wi-Fi. This Blackberry handset has been released in conjunction with the BlackBerry Storm2 9520 and the BlackBerry Storm 2.

The BlackBerry 9700 is powered by the BlackBerry OS 5.0 and it allows the users to make use of complete HTML browsing. BlackBerry Bold 9700 has a nick name, which is Onyx. The handset is expected to be made available for sale from the end of October or early November 2009. If this news is true then Bold 9700 Onyx will be the first 3G BlackBerry handset from T Mobile. BlackBerry Bold 9700 – The display
The BlackBerry Bold 9700 looks very attractive from every angle. Half portion of the frontal part of the phone is covered with the screen and the bottom half features the full QWERTY keypad. In between, there are the major control keys such as the call key, end key, back key, menu and the track pad. At the bottom of the keypad, the logo of T Mobile is featured and on top of the screen, the BlackBerry logo is visible. Look wise, it is quite a conventional BlackBerry get up. Now, let's take on the detailed aspects of the display of Onyx. The display screen of the mobile phone is 2.44 inches and it features the resolution of 480 x 360 pixels with 65,000 colours. Onyx includes a 3.2 mega pixel snapper that can click some amazing still shots and average video shots. The resolution of the camera is 2048 x 1536 pixels. Taking good quality snaps is possible even if the light condition is not that good as the snapper features LED flash and auto focus. Image stabilization is also there in the camera, which further assures the quality of the snaps. The shots are good enough and hence the users can upload the images and share them with friends and family.
Bold 9700 includes good video player that can play different formats of video files. These file formats are DivX, WMV, XviD and 3gp. In addition to that, there is a media player that can play music files such as AAC+, WMA and MP3.
