The HTC HD2 is sheer beautiful with a full touch screen interface. However, its beauty is not just limited to its looks; its features are excellent too. The mobile phone is touted as the second version of HTC’s Touch HD, which is a hugely popular device. Feature wise both the mobile phones are quite similar, but HD2 comes with certain upgradations and that it why people are eager to find out more about the handset. The first thing that you will notice about this phone is its huge touch screen, which is even bigger than its earlier version. The screen size of Touch HD is 3.8 inches and that of HD2 is 4.3 inches. In addition to that, the Touch HD features mini USB connector while HD2 comes with micro USB connector. The new mobile phone runs on the latest version of Windows Mobile 6.5, which is not the case with the older version. The new Operating System, USB connector and the size of the touch screen are the three major differences between these devices; however the other features including the design are almost same.
HTC HD2 Review – The Display
The big touch screen is its major highlight and this is going to catch everyone’s attention. Not just the size of the screen; the display of pictures, videos and even texts are just awesome. Unlike the other similar devices that use QVGA screen, the HTC HD2 comes with WVGA screen, which ensures utmost clarity in images and vibrancy in colours. The TFT capacitive touch screen of 4.3 inches provides resolution of 480 x 800 pixels and 65,000 colours. Other prominent highlights of the display includes accelerometer sensor for auto rotate, ambient light sensor, auto turn off proximity sensor, multi touch input and Sense user interface. The Sense UI is integrated in the handset so that the entire elements of interface appear so large that they can be accessed easily by using fingers. In spite of such high end features, the mobile phone is quite easy to carry and handle. It is a light weight device that weighs only 157 grams along with the measurement of 120.5 x 67 x 11 mm. The elegantly stylish handset is the pride for its owners.

The HTC HD2 offers a rare and excellent combination serious mobile computing and entertainment. HTC HD2 – What it is made of
The HTC HD2 is a strong and powerful handset in every aspect. The device comes with 448 megabytes of random access memory and 1GHz Snapdragon CPU powers the device. It runs on Windows Mobile 6.5 and its operations are dependant on the 4.3 inches WVGA touch screen display. This is also the first windows mobile that shuns the customary resistive units and brings in capacitive touch screen.

That is why, the HTC HD2 includes excellent network support such as quad band GSM 850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900 networks and dual band UMTS with 7.2 Mbps HSDPA and 2 Mbps HSUPA. This makes the device a genuine player in the 3G market and in addition to that, the inclusion of GPS, Wi Fi, USB and Bluetooth® makes HTC HD2 a fascinating device in terms of connectivity and network features also.
HTC HD2 Review – Camera
This is one aspect in the HTC HD2 mobile phone that has both good and bad sides. The good one is that it includes a 5 mega pixel snapper, which can click some fascinating shots in day time. The problem in the camera feature however lies in the fact that there is no flash. This is a big let down as the simple mobile handsets these days feature camera with flash. No flash means that there is no clarity of the images that are taken in the bad light conditions.
HTC HD2 – Music and Video Player
HTC HD2 comes with integrated music player to satisfy the wants of the music lovers. It can play music files of different formats such WAV, WMA, eAAC+ and MP3. Like the music player, the video player of the device is also impressive as it can also play diverse types of videos that include DiVX and XviD along with WMV, MP4, H.264 and H.263 player. HTC HD2 supports good memory back up so that the users can enjoy more and more music and videos. The handset is loaded with internal memory of 448 MB RAM and 512 MB ROM. Also, there is microSD™ (TransFlash) card slot for expanding memory up to 8GB.
HTC HD2 Review – Battery
When the device shows such vibrant and diverse features, it is important that it get proper power backup. Hence, the quality of the battery plays a key role to maintain the performance of the handset. The HTC HD2 comes with standard Li-Ion 1230 mAh battery, which runs up to 490 hours in the 2G mode and up to 390 hours in the 3G mode. In the 2G mode, the battery can ensure talk time up to 6 hours and 20 minutes while it lasts around 5 hours and 40 minutes in the 3G mode. The handset's battery can also support non stop playback of music up to 12 hours.
Overall, HTC HD2 is quite an attractive handset that is loaded with several high end features to satisfy the need of the diverse users.
