Good mobile phoneLove my htc G1, internet is great on it, and having push email is a real bonus, plus the buzz around the android OS makes it interesting to see what third party software will get released next year.
Saying this, had only problem with it this morning, couldn't use my G1 when speaking to automated system where they require you to press numbers for options!!
Anyone else had this prob with there t-mobile G1, do you know away around it?

Good mobile phoneTHe G1 is a brilliant mobile phone, internet and browser is superb, this is more of a mini pc than a mobile phone. Shame the camera is really c**p though, not even a flash. Plus there is no sat nav on it, thought someone would build something to plug in onto of google maps to get voice navigation, the only reason I can think of thaqt it is not done is that google maps will not load quick enough.
Many good features with the t-mobile G!, just a few big no no's for me that put a bit of a downer on it. However, for a first attempt by google teaming up with HTC we should not complain too much. i remember when Nokia first released the N95 the software was unbelievably rubbish. Several patches alter it improved. That reminds me of something else good with the G1, it updates the operating system itself via 3G, I think that is brilliant. There are a few areas for improvement on the G1, all in all I am very happy though.

Okay, but seen betterWait till your packs up like mine then you won't all be worshipping Google and HTC over their attempt at cracking the mobile phone industry with the G1. I am now waiting for my third G1, all the rest were fine for the first week then they just grind to a halt, think its as the memory gets filled up.

Okay, but seen betterGoogle and HTC have set the mobile phone industry alight with the t-mobile G1! I love my new G1 and I hope it smashes the sales of the Nokia N96 which according to the user reviews on this website seems like a piece of rubbish!

I WANT ONE!! All I seem to be hearing are reports that the G1 is rubbish and has too many bugs, well how wrong could they be. I have recently just upgraded to the t-mobile G1 from the nokia n95 and I must say the Google phone is unbelievably brilliant.
Internet on mobile phones has been around for a while though but i always go and get the latest mobile which claims to do it and i am disappointed. The G1 is super quick over the 3G network, obviously the network has not been upgraded just for this mobile, so the only thing I can think of is that the G1 processes the data quicker once it is received by the handset.
The browser takes a little getting used to but now i have got the hang of it i love it. You can browse the page using the touch screen or if you have fat fingers like me then you can use the roller mouse to navigate around. If you click the menu button on the QWERTY keyboard options appear at the bottom of the screen allowing you to whatever you need. My favourite is that it allows you to have multiple windows open at the same time. The back light seems to go off fairly quickly but I am sure there must be a setting somewhere for it, I just haven't found it yet.
with the G1 there is no need for a blackberry as it pushed your emails down to the G1 from your google account. You can also set up your google account to receive emails from any pop3 service so this is a complete email solution. I get alot of emails so I would like to be able to give a different ringtone to an email than a text message, haven't found this either but again it must be somewhere.
I did manage to kill the G1 mobile phones battery in under a day but I was playing with it a lot. I do think the electronics industry needs to find a way to improve battery life, this is an issue with all mobile devices like phone and laptops.
The t-mobile G1 is the BEST PHONE EVER! Plus things can only get better as third party software gets released due to the open source operating system. Im so impressed with google and HTC have built a brilliant handset to compliment it, wjhy can't I give this phone 6 stars :-)
