HTC Touch2 is a high end smart phone that is based on Windows platform. The mobile phone is elegantly stylish and sleek multimedia device that uses Windows Mobile 6.5 and latest services like Windows Marketplace for Mobile and Microsoft My Phone. The usage of applications over the mobile phone is very easy and it gives a smooth tou7ch screen access. HTC Touch2 takes touch screen interface to a different level altogether and it targets at higher range of audience. The announcement of the phone was made on September 2009 and it is expected to hit the market by the end of last quarter of the year. Other phones in the HTC touch range our HTC Touch HD, HTC Touch Diamond 2, HTC Touch Viva, HTC Touch Pro 2 and HTC Touch Cruise 09.
HTC Touch2 - Display and Appearance
Look wise, HTC Touch2 is hard to beat. This full touch screen device by HTC comes in three elegant shades of Black, Brown and Silver. The frontal part of the phone includes 2.8 inches TFT resistance touch screen and few major keys such as call key, end key, certain other controls. On front-top of the screen and back-bottom, the label of HTC is displayed. The camera shutter of the phone is placed on the back of the phone. The overall dimension of the mobile phone is 104 x 55 x 12.9 mm and its weight is 110 grams. The display of the device features 65,000 colours and its resolution is 240 x 320 pixels. Some of the other major highlights of the display are Accelerometer sensor for auto-rotate, Handwriting recognition, TouchFLO 3D finger swipe navigation and Touch-sensitive zoom bar.
The experience of accessing Internet on HTC Touch2 is similar to that of a desktop. So the device gives a real time experience of working with Internet Explorer. The device also incorporates a zoom bar that allows the users to view the text at maximum size. HTC Touch2 is a complete Internet Explorer mobile that supports Flash video content with Adobe Flash. This is a new Windows device that provides excellent browsing, messaging and productivity. The user can get perfect experience of handling emails and can also synchronize with Microsoft Exchange. With Windows Marketplace for Mobile, the user can download wide range of applications and get immaculate experience of handling diverse functionalities. The device is also capable of using My Phone service and to automatically back up and synch music, photos, text messages and contacts without any cost.
HTC Touch2 - The Multimedia Features
Now, let’s check out the multimedia features of the HTC Touch2. The device features 3.15 mega pixel camera and the photo resolution is 2048 x 1536 pixels. There is no secondary camera, but video recording is supported. The camera feature is a kind of let down as 3.15 mega pixel camera will not be able to provide proper quality of image snaps as expected from a device of such stature. Now, lets checkout the other entertainment and multimedia features of HTC Touch2. The device includes a music player that can play diverse files such as MP3, WAV, eAAC+ and WMA. There is no FM radio in the mobile phone. Video player is included in the device and it can play files of different formats such as MP4, WMV, H.263 and H.264.
HTC Touch2 - Other Features
HTC Touch2 is a Windows device and it runs on Microsoft Windows Mobile 6.5 Professional and Qualcomm MSM7225 528 MHz processor. It features GPS with A-GPS support and MIDP 2.0 Java. The one is perfect for work environment as it supports Pocket Office features such as PowerPoint, OneNote, PDF viewer, Excel and Word. The batter that this device uses is Li-Ion 1000 mAh, which provides stand by talk time of up to 500 hours in 2G network and up to 370 hours in 3G network. The normal talk time mode is up to 7 hours and 30 minutes in 2G network while in 3G, it is 6 hours and 10 minutes.
HTC Touch2 Review - Network and Connectivity Support
HTC Touch2 supports both 2G and 3G networks. In 2G network, the mobile phone supports quad band GSM network 850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900 while HSDPA 900 / 2100 is supported in 3G network. Connectivity features of the device are also top notch as it supports GPRS, HSCSD and EDGE along with 3G WLAN and Bluetooth. The device includes Bluetooth® v2.1 with A2DP and hence the user can enjoy unlimited exchange of data with the compatible devices such as other mobile phones, desktops, laptops, printers, music players, etc.
HTC Touch2 is a perfectly cool device when it comes to accessing email, making phone call, communicating with friends, etc. In day to day activities, this device makes great impact on business and general users as well. The ultimate touch experience of this smart delivers what it promises.
The facts disclosed about the phone so far seem to be quite interesting and it can be said that the device is an upgraded version of the htc-touch 3g phone. However, it is to be seen what it really offers when the device gets launched in the later half of 2009. So far the details of pricing are not disclosed yet. Okay, but seen betterI saw a demo of the handset. It DOES NOT have an Accelerometer, which is a disadvantage. However, it DOES have FM radio.
