LG GW550 review
LG have just announced the release of the LG GW520, it is part of the family that includes the LG GT505 and the LG KS360, these handsets are focused on there messaging capabilities, weather it be text or email. The LG GW520 comes in a very sleek and sexy casing in a number of colours to suit everyone’s taste, these are blue on black, red on black, pearl white and silver. There is a full slide out QWERTY keyboard allowing the user to email, chat and send SMS messages with ease which is great for this communication based mobile phone. The screen dominates the front of the handset at a respectable 2.8 inches from corner to corner, it is a TFT touch screen display with 262k colours and 240 x 400 pixel resolutions giving the user a great quality screen. LG have made the GW520 a reasonable size at 106.5 x 53 x 15.9mm and weighing 125.5 grams, mobile phones with QWERTY keyboards do seem to be bigger than phones without to accommodate such a great feature. The GW520 also has an accelerometer sensor for auto rotate. To give you plenty of room to store all your downloads LG have given the GW520 40 megabytes of internal memory and the option of a MicroSD™ card for up to 8 Gigabytes.
LG GW520 Messaging and Applications
Communicating with the world is great fun and easy using the LG GW520. There is SMS with threaded view so you can see the full conversation; we think this is a great feature to have on a phone as every now and then you do forget what you sent in the previous text. If you like fast texting there is T9 predictive text too. You can send pictures and videos from you phone using MMS (multi media messaging) keeping your friends and family entertained with all those moments caught on camera. If you use instant messaging a lot on your computer or laptop at home or at the office then the LG GW520 is a great phone for you as it has online instant messaging service using text and icons. The GW520 has Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync support allowing the user to receive emails while the phone is offline. There is also email and push email so staying in touch with the office is made simple using this great handset, if you get sent any document via email you can open them on your GW520 as it has a document viewer supporting Word, Excel, PDF and Power Point.
LG GW520 Internet and Connectivity
If you enjoy browsing on the internet the LG GW520 makes this possible as it has WAP 2.0, HTML and XHTML web browsers and for speedy connectivity is uses 3G HSDPA and HSCSD. This great phone also has EDGE and GPRS technologies for extra high speed connectivity. If you and your friends spend a lot of time sending each other photo’s and music then you will be please to hear the GW520 has Bluetooth® as long as the other person has this service. To put information onto pc or laptop is simple with the Micro USB connector. The GW520 supports Quad-band connectivity with GSM 850/900/1800/1900 and HSDPA 900/2100, you phone will automatically switch between these depending on the area and country.
LG GW520 Camera and Music Player
The LG GW520 has a 3 mega-pixel camera allowing you to take great photos, it has a digital zoom, camera key, a photo editor allowing you to crop and change your images and a photo album so you can arrange your pictures how you like. LG have given this mobile phone a good quality video recorder which allows you to edit you videos and the video player supports MPEG4 format and provides you with a video gallery. To customize your phone you can change the wallpapers and screensavers alternatively you can download them onto you phone from the internet. If you enjoy listening to music while on the go then the LG GW520 can provide this service to you with the music player supporting MP3, MP4, AAC, AAC+, Enhanced AAC+, MPEG4 and WMA music formats. You can also listen to your favorite radio stations while on the go with the built-in FM radio. If you like having your own individual ringtone you can use the ones already in the phone or download you own as the LG GW520 supports polyphonic and MP3 ringtones.
LG GW520 Application Tools
There are many great features on the GW520 including a built-in hands free speakerphone, a personal organizer with phonebook, clock, calculator and call log allowing you do view you most recent calls dialed received or missed calls.
