LG KB770 – with mobile TV
The LG KB770 is the latest mobile phone from LG and will be great for anyone who wants a phone that has the latest technology. The KB770 comes complete with a built-in DBV-T TV Receiver so you can watch TV on this handset. The KB770 has a sleek and sophisticated design and comes in a solid black colour, hopefully it will be available in more colours as it is nice to have a choice. The handset has a large 3 inch touch screen with a resolution of 400x200 pixels and uses 262,000 colours making the screen clear and bright which will be excellent for the TV’s clarity. The dimensions of the phone are 108mm x 54mm x 13mm so it is neatly compact. It weighs just 109 grams which is light considering the amount of technology that is built in, i.e. the TV!
LG KB770 TV Receiver – the exciting part
Ever been board on a long journey? Well now you can watch your favourite television programs on your mobile phone with the LG KB770's built-in DVP-T TV Receiver, this allows you to watch free to air digital TV Broadcasts on your mobile. There is only one other phone with TV functionality currently available, the N96 which has the alternative DVP-H system which has more limited coverage. View videos, photos and files on the 3inch touch screen with the TV Out function. You will find using the TV on your mobile will drain the battery which has up to 4hrs talk time and 300 hours standby time so be careful.
LG KB770 Internet & Connectivity
Surf the internet with ease on the KB770 as the phone offers WAP 2.0, HTML and XHML web browsing technology so you can keep in contact with mates on facebook or find out the latest news and gossip. There is 3G HSDPA2100 and EDGE which are network based services that allow reliable web surfing. It also has Bluetooth with A2DP and USB so you can transfer data, for example photos or music to other compatible devices such as a laptop or printer. The KB770 works on a Quad-band network and covers GSM 900/1800/1900 so you can use your mobile phone abroad.
LG KB770 Camera & Imaging
You can take photos with your KB770 with its Built-in 3.2 Mega pixel camera with has features such as Auto Focus. You can also make and record video footage on your phone. There is a secondary video camera so you can make video calls to other compatible devices so you can see who you are calling.
LG KB770 Messaging & applications
Keep in touch with friends and family using the messaging services such as SMS, EMS, Email and MMS (multi-media messaging). So whether you like sending texts or pictures or just keep in touch with work you will find a messaging service to suit you. A great application on the LG KB770 is the document viewer which supports DOC, XLS (word, excel) and PDF formats. You can transfer documents from your computer to your mobile using USB technology, and they will look like the original document, even the graphics so it is a great tool for work.
LG KB770 Music & Entertainment
Listen to music on your KB770 with its built-in MP3 Music Player plus download and store your favourite songs or albums. Memory wise the LG KB770 won’t win any awards with only 100MB internal, however this can be easily upgraded to 8GB by using a MicroSD™ card. Listening to your favourite radio stations is a breeze with this handset as LG has built-in an FM Radio. I’m keen top see who will be the first manufacturer to build in a DAB radio to a mobile phone, now that would be impressive! The LG KB770 has Bluetooth stereo which means you can use wireless head phones, you will have to purchase these separately as LG only provide a standard headset in the box. You can have your favourite song as your ringtone as the phone supports MP3 ringtones, the handset comes preloaded with polyphonic ringtones already on the phone. Play java games on the KB770, the handset comes with a selection plus you can download more from the web.
Another great feature on this phone is the built-in multi-media player with MPEG4 and DIVx/xVID player which allows you to watch downloaded high quality DIVx encoded movies on your mobile phone, how great is that, keep them clean though!
LG KB770 Summary
Entertainment is the word that springs to mind as the LG KB770 is full of it! This is only the second phone released where you can watch TV and with the DIVx multi-media player allowing you to watch films you will never be board. It has some great features such as the document viewer, LG could have finished the package by including a top class camera, I can only guess that it would have made the handset too expensive.
