When the LG KG800 commonly known as the LG Chocolate was released people were surprised at what an original looking phone it was. With it’ very dark, attractive glossy finish with silver detailing, it does resemble that of a bar of chocolate, hence the nickname. This phone is most definitely one the catches the eye with it’s mysteriousness.
The LG Chocolate is a slider phone with a touch-sensitive keypad, the LCD screen is dark also with the LG logo and with just a silver OK button. This phone gives nothing away with first appearances. There is a full keypad once the phone is slid open and buttons located on the side that control the volume, multimedia – MP3, camera plus a video camera. The touch-sensitive pad may take a little time to get used to, but the phone looks amazing and the design works really well.
Now to the features, the camera is of 1.3 mega-pixels with a flash and also features a video camera with high quality display. The music player is an MP3 with a vast variety of music formats and MP3 ring-tones are supported also. The music can be controlled from the inline remote control that comes supplied with the handset, or just simply with the touch pad. A headset is supplied and plugs into the charging port. Connectivity for both wireless Bluetooth® and USB is supported. The Chocolate has a built in memory of 128 Mbytes which is fairly good but to the have option of a memory card would have been great to have. The LG has software that enables the transference of your photo’s, videos and music between the phone and a PC.
The battery life isn’t poor but is below the average and does need to be charged every two or three days. The Chocolate weighs just 83g and is a slim and compact phone. It’s ideal to fit into your jeans pocket or even better, it fits into small handbags.
While the LG Chocolate is a stylish looking phone and make those who own it may look cool, it does have it’s flaws. It is not the most dependable of phone’s as the battery life is poor, and while the touch-sensitive pad looks fantastic some users have found it some-what of a nuisance. It may be best to consider the Samsung E900 or the new LG Shine before purchasing this phone.

Good mobile phoneFor the first year and half I had it, it worked perfectly. Now it's started playing up, sometimes the space key doesn't work, sometimes it does, it doesn't keep its charge very long, need to charge it every other night (but so does my boyfriend with his brand new Samsung Tocco!!)and the alarm doesn't work.
However, I recently got a Samsung U600, which broke within two weeks. I'm now back with my Chocolate, and, although it's not as pretty, and isn't perfect, it's usable and pretty durable. It's basic, but works.
Basically, you can't expect most new phones to last you longer than a year. No matter what model, most of my friends' phones and mine only last about a year.

Good mobile phonei have had my handset for a year now and i have never had any technical problems with it. i managed to changed my text alert so mine isnt annoying. it has gone off twice and after taking out the battery it was fine, had less probs than i did with my n95. the charger can be fiddley to put in and the heat sesitive screen is annoying if yu are wearing gloves in winter. other than that it looks nice and is quite small. i would def have another one.

Don't buy it This phone looks cool, but is frustrating to use. I found it turning off for no apparent reason and lose calls. The touch screen is too sensitive! Calls could be made accidentally without even knowing it and the key to access the internet seems to be easily pressed when you don't want to. No speaker phone is a definite drawback. Somewhat disappointing.

Good mobile phoneI have had my phone for a year now and apart from not being able to change the text alert I haven't had any problems at all. Much more reliable than the Shine that keeps switching itself off.

Don't buy it This phone is style over substance, yes it looks great but is very un-user friendly. I have owned mine for nearly a year now and whilst it is ok for making calls and and other basic use it is just some how really annoying to use, for example you can't use any other text allert other than the 4 rubish ones that come pre installed. If you get a text it will ring or vibrate once then never again making it easy to miss them. The battery life is about 3 days at best. The buttons are quite hard to use. Dont even bother tring to upload things from a pc, the software provided by LG is rubbish. I will never purchase an LG phone again, this phone may look good but it isnt.
