Nokia 2680 Slide
The Nokia 2680 Slide is a sleek and smart slide and design mobile phone. The phone is neatly compact and slides with ease making it easy to handle and operate with just one hand. The phone is complemented with its TFT display screen consisting of 128 x 160 resolutions and displaying 65K colours making it clear, bright and colourful. The dimensions of the Nokia 2680 Slide are 99mm x 47mm x 15.5mm and weighs 94.5g making the Slide a cute and light mobile phone to handle in the palm of the hand. The Nokia 2680 Slide features a 5-way scroll key with 2 soft keys, an active stand-by screen and also features short cut keys to take the user to their favourite applications which will come in very handy. The Nokia 2680 Slide operates on combo internal memory which consists of 32Mbytes Flash and 4 Mbytes of SDRAM allowing the user to store their music files and downloads. The owner can take pleasure in the fact that they can use up 3.4hrs of talk time and have up to 4.19hrs of stand-by time on one single full charge. The Nokia 2860 Slide has been introduced to target developing markets along with the 7070 Prism and 5000.
Nokia 2680 Slide – Music Player & Camera
The Nokia 2680 Slide features a built in VGA camera and video recorder, allowing the user to take still photo’s and record moving video footage at their leisure wherever they may be. Once the user has taken still photo’s they can choose from a great selection of trendy photo frames and insert their photo into it and then save it. The user can view their photos more clearly on the full screen viewfinder. Again, the same with recorded video clips once the user has taken footage they can play it back and view it the fantastic TFT display screen.
The user can be greatly entertained with the built in music player. The music player also features a built FM stereo radio. The user can also make use of the nifty radio recorder, this function will allow the user to record their favourite tracks that they hear whilst listening to the favourite radio station. The user can also take great delight in their ring-tones as the Nokia 2680 Slide supports MP3 and AAC ring-tones and which include great animated wallpapers and screensavers.

The Nokia 2680 Slide operates on GPRS and WAP 2.0 web browser making for an excellent web browsing experience and keeping those who are always on the go in touch and up to date with all the latest news, weather and general information. Connecting to other compatible devices could not be more straightforward with the help of the GPRS, Bluetooth® 2.0 interface and the EGPRS technologies making for excellent connections. The Nokia 2680 Slide operates on Dual band variants which include; GSM 850 – 1900 (US), EGSM 900 – 1800 (EU) and EDGE only, allowing the user to make use of the world roaming and enjoy a great experience.
Nokia 2680 Slide – Messaging & Applications
The Nokia 2680 Slide features all the messaging services that we have to come expect from our mobile phones now days, those that we all know and certainly love to use which include; SMS, MMS (multi-media messaging), instant messaging but now the Nokia Slide features a new messaging function which is called Xpress audio messaging. This feature allows the user to record a short personal voice clip insert it into a message and send to other compatible users.
The Nokia 2680 Slide features preinstalled Java MIDP 2.0 games giving the user something to really keep them self amused and occupied with whilst on the go or even if just bored. The user can download more games if they so wish suiting their own individual gaming taste. So being bored can be a thing of the past.
The Nokia 2680 Slide also features an array of features and applications to make life that little bit more easier for example, an advanced calculator, expense manager, an organiser with local calendar, converter 11 and space for up to 1000 contacts in their phone book, these are to name just a few elements that can make the every day-to-day life jobs and errands easier to manage with whilst away from home or the office.

Don't buy it 
Its good in look. Only problem is that it does not have a memory card slot. Also it has problem with message memory. I bought it yesterday and received some text messages on it but most of the times if i try writing a text or open my inbox, it says "Message Storage Memory not ready". Does anyone have an idea, how could it be fixed?

Okay, but seen betterI have bought the 2680 3 days ago, it works fine. The only problem I found (and can be overwhelming) is that when I receive a call, the speaker is mute for about 15 seconds, the person who calls can hear me but I can't hear anything until 15 seconds later, then it is OK.
Can anybody tell me what is the problem?.

Good mobile phoneGot the phone today, it is great for what it is.. a phone...there are some good Applications and the Internet &Connectivity are good also.
It small and light, its just what you need if you just make calls and texts.
if you need all singing and dancing phone this not it.... but it ok for the kids and people who just phone and text.

Don't buy it It's no wonder that Virgin are giving these away free: this is a low quality phone, no memory card slot, no flashing light to tell u about messages/missed calls. Screen graphics rough: very pixelated screen. I was gonna recycle my faultless old 6300 but I'll just hang onto it now as I have read many posts about 2680 quickly going faulty so may need it again!

Don't buy it Hi,
I am facing an issue with Nokia 2680-s. I bought it on the last week of oct last year. It was working fine for a few days. Then it started to hang up and i gave it to the nearest nokia care in alwarpet, Chennai. They told its a software issue and uploaded the new one and gave it to me. It didn't last for more than a day. Again it had the same problem and i gave it to them once again. They once again did the same thing and handed it over to me. But now this time the bluetoothe didn't worked out and the head set pin didn't showed up in the mobile. I gave the mobile back to them and they told that they are going to had it over to the head office. After a couple of weeks time they gave me a new mobile in replacement of the old one stating that the old one could not be repaired. The second new mobile which they gave to me didn't last for more than three days. Again the same hanging problem started and i gave it back to them. They once again sent the device to there head office. After 3 weeks of time they replaced the second one with a new one. It also didn't lasted for 3 days. The same problem, the same scenes, once again its been sent to the head office. I didn't used my mobile for more than 10 days. Most of the time it was at the head office. I am not sure why this problem is happening frequently with this mobile. If its a problematic set then Nokia should stop the particular model and has to replace the mobiles with another good model. I have to keep on changing the particular mobile with a new one till its warranty expires. and in the mean time the time that i used my mobile will not be more than 30 days. After spending some good money to mobiles it has to be worth for the amount that we spent.

AverageGot this for about £35 at Tesco and you can get some decent phones for that money. This hasn't got a lit keypad which is a disaster at night, very little memory so don't expect to keep music and pictures on it, and no PC connection. You can back up through the network somehow but haven't tried it yet. We got it for the predicitive text, and it looks cool, but that's about it. And it has bluetooth and a camera.

Good mobile phonePurchased the 2680 slide, 4th Dec 2008. Really pleased with it. Does all I want and is very user friendly....so simple to use, not even looked at the manual and Ive done everything with it!
Would have got 5 stars but for the lack of a lit keypad and the screen is far too dark in low light,

Good mobile phoneI just got this phone yesterday and so far I am really finding it easy to use. I have charged it, inserted the SIM card, connected the BlueTooth headset, added contact info, sent text messages, emails, text with pictures and, voice messages with ease.
It is a sleek looking and easy to use phone but there is one major downfall. The keypad doesn't light up and the screen isn't bright enough to allow the user to see the numbers even when it in a slightly dark room. The keys are small and smooth so it is hard to navigate from one to the next in dark or dim conditions.
All in all, it's a great phone but my next phone will definitely have a lighted keypad.
