The Nokia 6500 slider is a trendy looking slide design mobile phone. It comes in a choice of two colour casings which are black and silver depending on the user’s individual personal taste. The Nokia 6500 slide comprises a nice large 2.2 inch QVGA LCD screen displaying up to a massive 16.7 million colours with 240 x 320 pixels making it one colourful, bright and clear screen. The 6500 Slide features a 5-way navigation key with two soft keys with a side volume key that also features as a zoom operation key. The 6500 features the ‘Push to Talk’ function and the voice command control and recording facilities making things even more simple for the user. The dimensions of the Nokia 6500 Slide are 96.5mm x 46.5mm x 16.4mm and weighs 123g, ok its not one of the lightest phones but it isn’t brick like either. On one single full charge the user can use up to an immense 6hrs of talk time and have up to 320hrs of stand-by time. The effortless slide function that Nokia demonstrate with this mobile phone can also be seen on the Nokia 8800 Sapphire Arte which is part of the 8000 range.

The built in integrated camera of the Nokia 6500 Slide is of 3.2 mega-pixels with Carl Zeiss optics and features, auto focus, a double LED flash, 8x digital zoom, macro-shot, landscape mode, sequential shots and a dedicated 2-step capture key. All these functions and features allow the user to use their phone as if they were using a dedicated digital camera. The user can print off all their favourite pictures by using the Pictbridge facility. The user can also use their phone as a camcorder to record moving video footage to capture those personal moments on the spot. The video camera works on a 4x digital zoom function with MPEG4 format allowing the user to really zoom in their chosen subject. The Nokia 6500 Slide sports a second camera allowing the user to make video calling to other compatible users, they can make 3G TV calling and TV conference via TV-OUT, which makes for a superb video calling experience.

The Nokia 6500 slide features a choice of ring-tones allowing the user to really customise their mobile phone. The ring-tones include; 64 polyphonic ring-tones, video ring-tones and themed wallpapers and screensavers. The 6500 Slide also features OTA which will allow the user to make over the air downloads for ring-tones, themes, wallpapers and screensavers.

The built in internal memory of the Nokia 6500 Slide is of 20Mbytes but this can be increased up to 4Gbytes with the use of a MicroSD™ memory card allowing a huge amount of storage space for the user store all their music and downloads.

The 6500 integrated music player supports all the popular music formats which include; MP3, MP4, AAC, e-AAC+ and WMA audio file formats. The user can make great use of the visual radio which means while the user is listening to their favourite radio station they can view the information about that radio channel and also interact with it making for a superb music listening experience where ever you are. In addition the user can use their Nokia 6550 for lice video streaming which is in MPEG4 format.

The Nokia 6550 Slide works on a WAP 2.0 web browser with XHTML support and features the Opera Mini browser allowing the user to engage in a fantastic World Wide Web experience, so keeping up to date with all the latest news, weather and general information will always be very close at hand. Connecting to other compatible devices is made so much easier for the user as they can use the Micro USB connector with USB 2.0, Bluetooth 2.0Local and SyncML and the AV connector technologies making for superb compatible connections. For fast and speedy data transfers the 6500 supports the EDGE, GPRS and CSD elements allowing for not only speedy data transfers but for fast and secure downloading which the user will really appreciate. The 6500 works on Dual and Quad band networking using GSM 850/900/1800/1900 & WCDMA 850/2100 networks allowing the user to take full advantage of world wide roaming.

The Nokia 6500 Slide features all the usual messaging services that we all know how to use and have all grown to love for instance; SMS, MMS (multi-media messaging) and Push emailing. Now with the addition of the Nokia Xpress audio messaging which allows the user to record a quick personal voice clip and insert into a message and send it to other compatible users of this service. The emailing facility will allow the user to keep in touch with work whilst away from the home or the office.

The Nokia 6500 Slide has some fantastic applications for making the every day-to-day tasks of life that little more easier. The applications included are; calendar, to do list, countdown timer and calculator these are to name just a few.
