Nokia 6555 Review

The Nokia 6555 is a very stylish looking clamshell 3G mobile phone with a smooth fold design. The 6555 has dual screens and comes in a variety of attractive different colour skins options which include; black, silver red and beige depending on your personality. The main display is a 2.0 inch QVGA screen consisting of 240 x 320 pixels with a staggering 16M colours making the screen very clear, bright and very colourful. The phone features voice enhanced auto dialling allowing the user to use their voice to give commands to control the phone but does feature a 5-way navigation key. There is a secondary display screen of 128 x 160 pixels with 262K colours. The dimensions of the phone are 99.6 mm x 44.3 x 19.6mm making it a really nice sized phone that fits comfortably in the palm of your hand and weighing only 97g makes it nice and light. Nokia state that you can use up to 6.5 hours of talk time and up to 300 hours of stand by time on a single charge.

Nokia 6555 – Music player and Camera

The Nokia 6555 comes equipped with a 1.2 mega-pixel camera, ok its not one the best cameras available but all the same is great for taking a quick snap anytime anywhere especially with its dedicated camera and zoom key making the process quick and easy. The user can also record video footage at their leisure and playback at anytime with camera features and functions.

The built in music/media player gives the user access to listen to their favourite music on the go. The music player supports all the popular music formats such as; MP3, AAC, eAAC and WMA formats. The user can view their album graphics on the fantastic display screen. The video player allows for playback and downloading and even video streaming. This consists of MPEG 4 and AMR. The 6555 also supports polyphonic, video, MP3, MIDI, AAC, eAAC and AMR to suit the users needs. And of course, the phone comes with 25 built in ring-tones and 7 built in video ring tones. The internal memory of the Nokia 6555 is 30MB but this can be increased with a MicroSD™ memory card up to 4GB as the phone has a dedicated memory card slot.

Nokia 6555 – Internet & Connectivity

The Nokia 6555 has an XHTML browser allowing access to the World Wide Web which is great for those on the move and who enjoy keeping up with the latest news and gossip. The 6555 also presents WAP 2.0 browsing with a TCP and IP connection. The 6555 covers quad band networking such as; GSM, 850, 900, 1800, 1900 and WCDMA 2100 allowing the user to enjoy world wide roaming. Connecting to compatible devices is so straightforward and can be done by using the phones micro USB port, Bluetooth wireless technology or the 2.5mm audio jack. The user can also make much use of the HSCSD network as it allows high speed data transfers which are up to 43.2 Kbps per second. The EDGE technology also provides speedy data transfers up to 236.8Kbps per second.

The Nokia 6555 – Messaging & Applications

The Nokia 6555 has all the standard messaging services that you would expect from a mobile phone these days like SMS, MMS and emailing for keeping those on the move in touch with all the up date information even away from the office but with the addition of the Xpress audio messaging function allowing the user to record their personal voice message and send it to other compatible users.

The Nokia 6555 comes with an array of built in games to keep the user fully entertained and with the facility to download more if desired. The applications available on the 6555 are also positive additions that the user can entertain themselves with and make great use of such as like; Yahoo GO, Opera mini, Presenter, Sensor and all the usual functions like the world clock, calculator and Converter II.
