The Nokia 6600 Slide is a compact and elegant mobile phone with a high quality slider that can be opened using one hand. The 6600 Slide is a slim 14mm thick and only weighs 110 grams. The outer casing is constructed from steel covers and the control keys are made from aluminum. For such a compact phone the Nokia 6600 Slide has a respectable 2.2 inch QVGA screen using 16.7 million colours to ensure a bright display. The 6600 Slide features the new tap technology from Nokia which allows the user to mute/reject calls or silence the alarm simply by tapping the outer case of the phone, I can see me being late for work a lot if I get this phone!

The Nokia 6600 Slide has similar features to the Nokia 6600 Fold featuring a multi standard music player with built-in FM radio. The music player support MP3, MP4, AAC & eAAC+ and MicroSoft-Windows Media Audio (WMA). There is only 20MB of internal memory so to store all your favourite songs but Nokia have included a 512MB MicroSD™ memory card in the package, this can be upgraded to 4GB which should not cost you more than £30.
The Nokia 6600 Slide boasts a 3.2 megapixel camera which is better than the 2.0 megapixels offered by the Nokia 6600 Fold. The camera has 8x zoom and a double LED flash to brighten up those photos taken in dimly lite environments. VGA video recording is at 15 fps and QVGA at 30 fps giving a good quality recording. With the 2.2 inch TFT QVGA screen using 16.7 million colours admiring your filming work is a pleasure. There is no secondary camera like the Nokia 6600, as this is not a flip phone it is not really needed.

The Opera Mini 4 browser supports Java™ MIDP 2.0, this is a Java platform created for resource constrained devices such as mobile phones. It assists the browser with audio and gaming and securing the network with is useful if you use your mobile phone for online banking. Macromedia Flash Lite 3.0, a stripped down version of flash is also supported on this mobile phone, think youtube!
The battery provided with the Nokia 6600 Slide will power the mobile phone for 3-4 hours of talk time and up to 240 hours on standby mode. Support is offers for both Bluetooth® and MicroUSB connectivity which is useful when connecting to your PC or printer to download pictures or uploading music or even charging your phone. The Nokia 6600 Slide contains many application such as Nokia Maps, Yahoo! Go, Calculator, Converter, and World Clock to mention a few.
