Nokia 6600i review

Nokia are releasing a new and updated version of its previous Nokia 6600 Slide. To look at the new Nokia 6600i you may struggle to see any changes from the original Nokia 6600, you need to look under the hood to find the impressive upgrades which have been made to the imaging facilities on the 6600i. The Nokia 6600i has all the features we saw on the Nokia 6600 Slide, including a 2.2 inch screen, support for Bluetooth® and 3G, plus a MicroSD™ slot so you can expand the memory with a Micro SD card. You will be pleased to here the phone comes with a 1 GB card in the box. The FM radio is present so you are able to listen to your favourite radio stations. The 6600i also inherits the tap commands courtesy of the accelerometer.
The only difference between the old and new version is the camera has been upgraded to 5 megapixels from 3.2 megapixels. The Dual LED flash and video recording at 15 fps stays the same as the previous version, the Nokia 6600 Slide. Nokia are stating that the 6600i is the smallest 5 MP camera phone ever made. The outer casing of the nokia 6600i is metallic with a brushed metal finish. You will be able to get your hands on the new version of the 6600 from Q3 2009. If you are not familiar with the previous version then checkout our 6600 slide review, you will find further details and a full list of the specification.

There is only one postive thing about this phone. It's overall design is very nice. The negatives. Wow.... I have two of these phones unfortunately and it's not a fault with the phone but rather design flaws as follows:
The SPEAKER IS ON THE BACK so when you put it down you cannot hear a thing including the phone ringing. NB CHECK ALL NEW NOKIA MODELS FOR THIS DESIGN FLAW. QUITE A FEW MODELS HAVE THIS STUPID PROBLEM.
Ring tones especially mp3 sometimes play once only and then never again. The phone still rings but no sound.
Voice quality truly sucks and I mean badly. Like talking down a conduit pipe.
Had the phone for a week and it has already down a lockup. Had to switch on and off to get it to work.
Sometimes it rings for split second and then immediatly hands up and says call missed?? Nice one!
Ring tones are very nice if you are sitting in a sound proof room. Otherwise they are not very loud or useful.
