Nokia 7230 review
All the mobile phone companies are launching new handset almost every week. Nokia is also doing the same thing over the last few weeks. The mobile manufacturing giant has recently unveiled another latest handset - the Nokia 7230. Though this mobile phone is not expected to create that much curiosity, which Nokia X6 and Nokia N900 has already generated, but still it may find its place in the market. The cost of the handset is expected to be affordable and the features are also quite decent. But, do not expect amazing web experience and immaculate video and imaging features from Nokia 7230. This phone is meant for doing simple things with utmost accuracy. This is a slider handset targeted at the segment of lower mid range. The prime features of the mobile phone is 3G connectivity, 3.2 mega pixel fixed focus camera, Nokia messaging support and easy sharing on portals like Facebook, Flickr and Ovi Share. Wait until the first quarter of 2010 when the phone releases.
Nokia 7230 Review – The design
Nokia 7230 is an elegantly stylish and super slick slide phone. You can carry this handset in any party and make the heads turn. 7230 is going to be made available with two vibrant shades, which are hot pink and graphite. The shape of the phone is rectangular, but with the curved effect on the edges. The frontal portion of the phone is mainly covered by its 2.4 inches TFT screen. On top of the screen, you can find the logo of Nokia and just below the screen; some of the major functional keys are placed. These keys are call key, end key, contact key, go to key and menu button. Go to and contact keys can be customized with other options of the phone. To find the numeric keypad of the phone, you have to slide it up. The back portion of the phone only features the camera lens of the 3.2 MP snapper and the logo of Nokia.
Nokia 7230 – size and display
Nokia 7230 is a handy device in terms of design and display. The measurement of the phone is 98 x 48 x 14.8 mm and it weighs just 100 grams. The design is so sleek that you can easily carry the phone in your pocket. The display of the phone is made up of 2.4 inches TFT screen that displays 256,000 colours. The resolution of the display is 240 x 320 pixels.
Nokia 7230 – network and connectivity
Nokia 7230 is enabled with 3G and it is combined with certain social networking portals, therefore sharing files and images needs to be done with proper uploading speed. The speed of uploading is quite satisfactory in this handset, considering its range. Accessibility of data and connectivity is also supported by GPRS and EDGE along with Bluetooth® v2.1 with A2DP and v2.0 microUSB port. There is no option for infrared and WLAN. As far as network features are concerned, Nokia 7230 supports both 2G network and 3G Network. In case of 2G network, it supports the quad band GSM network, which is GSM 850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900; while for 3G, it is UMTS 900 / 2100 / 1900.

Nokia 7230 includes all these features and that is why its memory option must be adequate. The internal memory of the phone is 45 mega bytes and it is sufficient to maintain 2000 phonebook entries and call records of 20 dialed, received and missed call lists. That much internal memory is definitely not sufficient to play diverse features of the phone and that is why the device features expandable memory option of up to 2GB with microSD™ card slot.
Nokia 7230 – the camera
