The Nokia E66 is a cool and trendy slide design mobile phone that comes in a choice of two colour casings of grey steel and an elusive white steel casing, both of which are very stylish. The E66 has been built and designed with personal and business users in mind. The E66 comprises a nice large 2.4 inch QVGA screen displaying a whopping 16.7 million colours with resolutions of 240 x 320 pixels making for a fantastically clear, bright and colourful screen for superb viewing. The Nokia E66 is an adorable size with dimensions of 107.5mm x 49.5mm x 13.6mm and weighs 121g, fitting comfortably in the hand when using. The handset is simple to use, which is just how we like it, with the superb illuminated one touch keys, accelerated scrolling with an intelligent Navi™ key and the numeric pad with speaker dependant and independent voice dialling. The Nokia E66 comes from the popular Nokia E series family with members including the Nokia E50, Nokia E51, Nokia E61i and the Nokia E90 Communicator all of which are from the smart-phone range. Nokia state that on a single full charge the user can expect up to 7.5hrs of GSM talk time - 3.5hrs of WCDMA talk time, 264hrs of GSM stand-by time and 336hrs of WCDMAS stand-by time.
Nokia E66 – Music Player & Camera
The built in music player of the Nokia E66 supports the most popular music formats which include; AAC, AAC+, MP3, AMR-NB and AMR-WB with the addition of a built in FM stereo radio allowing the user to not only listen to their favourite music and radio stations but to keep up to date with all the latest news and travel information. The user can really customise their Nokia E66 with their choice of ring-tone and the E66 offers a great selection of them which includes; MP3, AAC and 64 voice polyphonic ring-tones. The Nokia E66 has 100M-bytes of internal memory plus a MicroSD™ memory card supporting up to 8G-bytes allowing a mass amount of storage space for the users music files and downloads.
The Nokia E66 features a 3.2 mega-pixel camera with 4x digital zoom, LED flash, auto-focus and a CMOS sensor. There are some fantastic settings which include; Flash Modes consisting of; On, Off, Automatic and red-eye reduction. There are capture Modes to assist the user in taking a great photo and they include; still, sequence, self-timer and video. There are scene modes, colour tone modes, active toolbar and a dedicated camera key plus many more features and settings to mention. The user can really enjoy capturing moving video footage with their Nokia E66 in the same way a camcorder works. Again the video recorder/player features so many settings and functions allowing the user to really make the most of this facility and capture superb personal moving footage. The video recorder records at 128 x 96 pixels (QCIF) and up to 15 fps. The file formats for this service are MP4, 3GP, Codecs, H.263 and H.264. The play-back formats are exactly the same. As well as all this the user can enjoy the pleasure of using video calling with other compatible user’s with this function. Nokia E66 – Internet & Connectivity
The user can really enjoy the use of fast connectivity, data transfers and internet with the support of the 3G HSDPA, HSCSD and EDGE technologies making for a superb internet experience. There are a selection of connection options which include; Bluetooth, infra-red, USB and WI-FI allowing the user to connect to other compatible devices with ease. The Nokia E66 comes equipped with a built in GPS system allowing the user to obtain access to maps and directions and there is a Nokia maps application already built into the phone, so getting lost can be an event of the past because all you will need is your phone. The networks used for the E66 covers GSM 850/900/1800/1900 and WCDMA.
Nokia E66 Messaging & Applications
The Nokia E66 features all the usual messaging services we have come to know and use well which include; SMS, MMS (multi-media messaging) and emailing. Now with the addition of the Text-to-speech message reader and the Windows Live messenger application. The emailing service supports IMAP4, Mail for Exchange, POP3 and SMTP protocols with the support for attachments. All of these great capabilities make for superb emailing and allows those to really keep on top of the work-load while away from the office. The email functionality is a main feature of this mobile phone as it is primarily aimed at business users.
The Nokia E66 presents some fantastic applications which consists of; contacts with images, remote lock, a Symbian 9.2 Operating system, Series 60 3.1 Software, Voice over IP Internet call, Conference calling and Push-to-Talk and this really is naming just a few.
