The Nokia N95 8GB has arrived. The original N95 was not an impressive phone at all, ok it was packed in features but the handset was quite large and the battery life was poor and the general running of the software was a bit slow. So be pleasantly surprised because we think the N95 8GB is a much better piece of technology.
The good news is the N95 8GB is all in all a much better handset. The original N95 has had several upgrades, which we understand some of the issues have been dealt with.
Now don’t get us wrong, the N95 8GB is still quite a beast of a phone, weighing at a chunky 128g and measures 53mm wide and 21mm in thickness. It is also 99mm in tall but once the phone is slid open to use the keypad, it grows to a shocking 130mm in height. This phone isn’t for those looking for a neat, discreet, lightweight phone.
The concept of the dual slider is still remaining. The number keypad slides out one end, and out of the other, there are four buttons to control the music playback. We weren’t really impressed by this concept before and neither are we really, this time round. The four buttons can come into good use, to control the music playback when you are in applications other than the music player.
To be honest the front facing camera for video calling and 3G quad-band is not unique, nor is the 5 mega-pixel Carl Zeiss optic camera as it once did as many mobiles now do have a 5 mega-pixel camera facility. But with its huge library of software, images, video clips, ring-tones, messages, Wi-Fi and huge screen is supported by 100 MB as well as it’s 8GB of built in flash memory. It is the closest we’ve seen as yet to Nokia’s desire of a real mobile computer. Take a look at the N96 due out in Q3 2008, due to be one of nokia's biggest sellers.

Good mobile phoneJust brought this phone whilst away on holiday in Dubai. Its a truely fantastic phone with multiple features and its just like my laptop, but just a-lot smaller. The Sat-Nav option is also very helpful on the N95 although you do have to subscribe to it for a futher chanrge!!! (they dont tell you this whenyou buy the phone) but the subscription is as little as £10 for a few months (i believe thats what i paid). I had to original nokia N95 mobile phone and it ws ok but they obviously didnt test it properly as it was crashing constantly and i even had to have it replaced 3 times in the first month i had it!. Nokia look to have hit the nail on the head this this phone but maybe next yea the new nokia N95 will come and it might have a better camera and slightly better design features. Easy to use/good picture quality/ good sat nav - overall i am happy with the phone so far.
