Samsung C6112 review

Samsung has made an announcement of launching a dual sim mobile phone – Samsung C6112. The usage of mobile phones has increased to such an extent that many people are not finding it enough to meet up all the requirements with just a one phone. Some people use a handset for official usages and another for personal purposes, but it is impossible every time to carry two or more phones at a time. That is the reason why the mobile phones with dual sim are getting popular these days and of the latest edition in this league is the Samsung C6112. The dual sim phones have two different ports inside for attaching the sim cards, and it works as a single handset for two service providers. There are many phones in this range, but the features and the style factor of Samsung C6112 makes it quite attractive.

Samsung has not yet disclosed the price of this mobile phone; the company has just made the official announcement. It is expected to release within the first quarter of 2010. This slider handset is just perfect for those who do not want to always carry two phones. Overall, Samsung C6112 is a very useful handset.

Samsung C6112 - Network and Connectivity

Network and connectivity are two very important aspects of any mobile phone. Samsung C6112 comes with a dual sim functionality and therefore, it supports two GSM network. The first sim is supportive of the quad band GSM 850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900 and the second sim is supportive of the dual band GSM 900 / 1800. The phone is loaded with GPRS and EDGE that provide data accessibility speed of 32 - 48 kbps and 236.8 kbps respectively. The biggest disappointment that the phone provides is the lack of 3G, WiFi connectivity. The mobile phone users love to share data files like images, videos, music, etc., and therefore, the presence o compatibility factor is important. The inclusion of USB and Bluetooth® ensures that files can be exchanged immaculately with other compatible devices.

Samsung C6112 Review - Display

The Samsung C6112 comes from the Duos lineup of the company and the logo of "DUOS" is featured on the top of the handset. The device is available in three shades, which are dark red, blue and black and all these shades look equally ravishing with the polished metallic finish. The display screen is a TFT screen that measures 2.4 inches. It provides colour display of 256,000 colours and 240 x 320 pixels of resolution. Now, let us check out the overall measurement of the phone- the dimensions include 105.8 x 50 x 16.5 mm, and it weighs just 112 grams. Not just because of the dual sim factor that the user needs to carry only one phone and enjoy easy to carry facilities, but its lightweight factor ensures further ease at handling of the phone. The main functional keys such as the select key, back key, menu button, call key and end key are placed right at the bottom of the screen. When the phone is slid open, the numeric keypad is displayed. When the other mobile companies are running after the touch screen mania, Samsung has introduced different lines of useful phones such as Samsung S5350 Shark, Samsung S5550 Shark 2, and Samsung C 6112.

Memory features of Samsung C6112

Memory plays the key part of any mobile phone. When the user intents to store a lot of applications, whether it is in the form of videos, music, games, etc., it is quite obvious that sufficient memory support is a must. Generally, the integrated memory capacity of the mobile phones just records the phone book entries, call records, and certain other general applications. The entertainment based applications require bigger memory place and therefore, expandable memory features is important. The Samsung C6112 features 30 MB of internal memory and the users need to purchase micro SD card for expanding memory capacity separately. The memory of the phone is expandable up to 8 GB.

Camera of Samsung C6112

The fun and entertainment part if plays vital in a mobile phone. No one purchases a handset these days just for the purpose of making and receiving calls. Samsung C6112 is therefore, loaded with a 2 mega pixel snapper and 1600x1200 pixels of resolution. The camera is not that fascinating that the users will get enticed to buy the mobile phone just for the purpose of the camera features. However, if we consider the usability of the device, which never claimed to be an extraordinary handset, then this 2 mega pixel camera seems to be quite a good feature. Video recording can also be done with this snapper at 176x144 @15fps and there is no secondary camera.

The music and video feature of Samsung C6112

Like the camera feature, the music and video playback also greatly influences the purchasing decision of the mobile phone manufacturers. Many users spend hours into listening to music or watching videos in a mobile phone. Therefore, the importance of nice video and music playback is very essential. Samsung C6112 is loaded with a music player that can play different music files such as MP3, WMA, and eAAC+ while the video player can play H.263, H.264, MP4, and WMV files. The music lovers will also like the Stereo FM radio with RDS and FM recording capabilities of Samsung C6112.

The battery of Samsung C6112

The Samsung C6112 is powered by Li-Ion 960 mAh standard battery, which provides up to 9 hours of talk time and up to 385 hours of longevity in the stand by mode. Considering the features of the mobile phone, the battery back up seems to be impressive as well.
