Good mobile phoneI originally had the D880 and I was VERY impressed with this phone. I had heard people mentioning that the D880 was a problem because the data ribbon between the phone and the slide section quite often got damaged and couldnt be replaced. I never had this problem, but when I needed to replace this phone I erred on the side of caution and bought the D780 (also because it was about 15% cheaper).
To be honest I wish I had stuck with the D880, becuase I find the D780 to not be as good as the D880. My business partner also purchased a D780 and also wishes he had bought the D880, because like me he is finding the phone keeps dropping signal / calls (even though it shows full strength on the meter on the phone) with people struggling to get through to both of us. Worst of all the phones keep shutting down of their own accord well before the battery is on low power.
If you can afford it, go for the D880. But if not it is definately a brilliant phone for what it does in comparisson to the only other option which is the Chinese / Korean no-name brand. Having been a Sony Ericsson fan for many years, i wish they would develop a dual SIM phone and I would move back to their products!!

Good mobile phoneI bought this when I moved to work in the Philippines for a few months as it has dual-sim functionality and allows me to carry one phone rather than two.
I have previously used a variety of Windows Mobile phones for the last few years so this is what I'm comparing it with.
In short: the phone does what it says on the tin (or at least the spec sheet from the Samsung shop in the Ayala Mall, Cebu City) and does it well.
I charged up the phone, opened it up and put in my two sims (local one is Smart telecom and UK on O2). The primary sim goes into slot one and secondary sim into slot two, although it turns out that this is not strictly necessary. It's possible to change this by pressing a button on the side of the phone and choosing which sim to make primary. Note that this causes a reboot of the phone.
Calls and texts come through on both, no matter which one is selected as primary. Making calls / sending texts is by default via the primary sim but it is easy to choose which sim to use for the call / text and changing the default is not necessary. I've not yet worked out how to tell which line a text has come in on.
It's also good that I can turn off one or other sim as I wish via the software and so I am not on call for work when I'm out with family.
My biggest bug-bear is the Samsung OS which I've never got on with - in the past I had an E-250 which I bought for a holiday and didn't want to have to worry about it. I didn't like the OS and I still don't. By default texts are not saved when sent so it's necessary to choose "save and send" each time. I always need a record of sent texts for work purposes so this is a bit of a pain and I don't always remember to do it. Further, there is a limit to the number of texts which can be saved and this is a bit of a headache at times too.
But the fact that I get away with one rather than two and have coupled it with my EEE901 for much of my work makes it worthwhile putting up with the difficulties.
Conclusion: I'll use it for as long as I need the dual sim functionality but I'll be back to Windows Mobile as soon as I can. Mind you, if anyone can recommend a dual sim WM phone, point me to it!
