Samsung F400 – Duel Slide mobile phone
The Samsung F400 is a dual slide opening mobile phone, with its glossy black case and metal accents really, the F480 mobile phone looks smooth and sophisticated. The opening system of the mobile phone is also featured on the Samsung i450, it allows the user to slide the back section of the mobile phone up to use the built in speaker or slide the back section down to access the user keypad. The slide functionality is very similar to the Nokia N95 and Nokia N96. The F400 comprises a fairly large 2.2 inch TFT screen displaying 262K colours using 240 x 320 pixel resolution. This makes for a fantastic clear, bright and colourful display screen. The dimension of this rather attractive mobile phone are 103mm x 48mm x 16.9mm and weighs a reasonably light 105g, making for a compact and easy to hold mobile phone that would fit comfortably into your pocket. On a single full charge the user can expect up to 4.5hrs of talk time and have up to a massive 600hrs (25 days) of stand by time. We did not have 25 days to test this, but if anyone did post a comment below and let us know how you got on.
Music Player & Camera
The built-in music player of the Samsung F400 supports most of the popular music formats which include; MP3, AAC, AAC+, e-AAC+ and WMA formats. There is also a built-in FM stereo radio so the user can listen to their favourite music artists as well as their favourite radio stations and DJ’s. The user will be in for a right treat when listening to their music as the F400 has Bang &s; Olufsen ICE power for a top quality sound. There are built-in dual speakers to provide an extra kick to the sound system as well as the Smart Bass element for a real powerful sound. This is a superb music sound system that all music lovers will really value and appreciate the sound quality. The user can customise their F400 ring-tone, provided with the F400 are 72 polyphonic ring-tones and MP3 ring-tones. The built-in internal memory of the F400 is 24 Megabytes, but there is support of a memory card slot for a MicroSD™ memory card so the user can increase the memory (up to 4GB) providing more space for their music files and downloads.
The Samsung F400 comes with a 3 mega-pixel integrated camera with 3x digital zoom, auto focus and an LED flash. There is a great selection of shot modes on the F400 which include; Single Shot, Multi Shot, Mosaic Shot, Frame Shot and Panorama allowing the user to take a great quality photo. They also have a choice of they would like their photo to turn out like they have a choice of Gray, Negative, Sephia or None allowing for a superb photograph.
The Samsung F400 comes equipped with a built-in video camera. It allows the user to record moving video footage in the same way as a camcorder does. The video recorder provides MPEG4 and 3GPP video formats. The user can make great use of the video streaming element and really enjoy video calling between other compatible users with this facility, making for a real personal phone call.
Internet & Connectivity
The Samsung F400 works on a HTML 4.0 and WAP 2.0 web browser providing an excellent World Wide Web experience to the user, keeping up to date with all the latest news and information will always be at hand even whilst being on the move. The user can enjoy speedy data transfers with the EDGE and GPRS technologies that are built-in to the F400. Connecting to other compatible devices is especially easy with Bluetooth® complete with A2DP and the USB connection technologies, the HSDPA provides a fast and speedy connection. The Samsung F400 operates on a Tri-band network and covers GSM 900/1800/1900 and HSDPA 2100 so the user can make use of the roaming facility.
Messaging & Applications
The Samsung F400 has all the usual messaging services that we have all come to know and use which include; SMS, MMS (multi-media messaging), emailing and predictive texting, but with the added bonus of EMS (enhanced messaging) which allows users to send and receive ring tones and operator logos. The email service allows the user to access their work emails while away from the office and POP3, IMAP4 and SMTP attachment files are available.
The F400 comes equipped with embedded Java games so the user can stay amused and occupied any time any place, great for those long train journeys! The user has the choice to download more games if they wish but there maybe an extra charge, check before downloading.

The Samsung F400 is a very stunning and sophisticated looking mobile phone which oozes style and elegance. The F400 is packed full of great features and functions especially with its enhanced sound system featuring the Bang & Olufsen brand. If you love your music you will really appreciate the enhanced quality. Again it’s not a 5 Mega-pixel camera like the Samsung F480 and Samsung F490 which is a little disappointing but the Samsung F400 is a music phone, so you can not have everything.
