Samsung G400 review
The Samsung G400 is a very smart and elegant looking phone that has a clamshell opening design and is a family member of the Soul Ultra edition phone. The Samsung G400 is nick-named the Samsung Clamshell Soul as you can see it is a clamshell edition of the wonderful Samsung U900 Soul. The reason why this very striking 3G phone is a member of the Soul Ultra range is that the casing is very slim in size. Its measurements are 15.2mm deep by 51.5mm in width and 102.8mm in height. The Samsung G400 Clamshell Soul is very focused on its image and is for the fashion conscious for those who really care about their mobile phones. The handset is complete with a touch sensitive screen and has a nice silky bodied casing. The main colour of the G400 is black but its curved edges are of a silver metal effect that really does add some elegance to this very attractive 3G mobile phone.
The Samsung G400 comes with a dual screen than enables the user to use the phone either in the open or closed position. The external touch sensitive display screen is a large 2.2 inches with 240 x 320 pixel screen resolutions and the internal screen comes with the same resolutions and is also 2.2 inches in size but is just a standard TFT display screen. This will allow the user the enjoyment of high colour and high resolution images on both the screens but take pleasure in the touch sensitive eternal screen.
The G400 features a built in 5 mega-pixel camera allowing the user to really enjoy high quality imaging features and functions. The features of this fantastic phone are the auto- focus feature that will always take a very clear, defined and un-blurry photo every time a snap shot is taken. The flash feature will brighten up those shots taken in the dark or very dimly lit environments, and a face detection feature that will automatically focus on a person’s face that is in a photo. The camera also has a built in image stabilizer which will take a steady and clear photograph even if the user’s hand isn’t the steadiest. The G400 has picture blogging facility that will allow the user to upload their pictures onto a blog site for all their contacts to observe.
The 5 mega-pixel camera also has video recording capabilities which will allow the user to record moving images as well as capture still photos. The G400 will also enable the user to playback all their video recordings and enjoy video streaming. The G400 has a built in music player that features an FM radio, allowing the user to really enjoy high quality music and sound and can also download and transfer music, making it a great on the move entertainment system. The radio feature is complete with RDS technology that will enable the listener to view the radio stations information that is provided by the radio station on the screen as well as actually listening to the radio. The user can change their ring-tones and MP3 ring-tones as well as their message alerts.
The Samsung G400’s 3G HSDPA will allow the user to enjoy high speed capabilities and 3G video calling. The G400 has a small allocated camera in the hinge that is there specially to allow the 3G video calling. The phones allowance of transferring music, pictures and video files are all capable due to either using a Bluetooth® wireless connection or a USB cabled connection between the two devices. The Bluetooth® wireless connection allows for a wire and tangle free connection option allowing the user to connect to other devices wire free and up to nearly 10 metres apart. The Samsung G400 has an allocated memory card slot allowing the user to purchase a MicroSD™ memory card to increase the storage of music and downloads if the user chooses to do so.
The built in WAP browser feature allows the user to connect to internet with speed that is all down the built in 3G HSDPA technology. The user can also enjoy HTML and XHTML internet experience with a high speed connection. The G400 has a great messaging service these include text messaging, MMS multi-media messaging service and emailing service. The MMS text service allows the user to send text, pictures, downloads and video clips to other compatible MMS users in their contacts files. The emailing service is marvelous for those who need to send and receive emails whilst on the move and not having to be sat at the work desk or home PC. The Samsung G400 is a much desired and stylish fashionable phone, packed full of fantastic imaging and communication features waiting for its new owner to discover.
