It is now official, the Samsung S8300 Tocco or Samsung Ultra-Touch has been revealed we do not know the release date as yet for this sleek looking mobile phone but here are some specifications for you to check out.
This fabulous handset is a new top range 3G slider phone that uses Samsung's TouchWIZ interface with the added touch of hardware keys to make typing an SMS or dialling a number just a little more quicker. The Samsung S8300 comprises a fantastically large 2.8 inch OLED WQVGA touch-screen with screen resolutions of 240 x 400 pixels, because of the OLED screen there is no back-light to chew up the battery life. Another added bonus of this fantastic touch-screen is the scratch resistant coating for peace of mind with regards to ware and tare.
The fabulous metallic casing of the Tocco Ultra measures 100mm x 51.5mm x 12.7mm in size as yet we don not have a weight for this stylish and elegant mobile phone. Users can expect up to 4 hours of talk time and up to 350 hours of stand-by time with a full charge of the battery.
Samsung Tocco Ultra Review – Camera & Imaging
We love the fact the Samsung S8300 Tocco features an 8 mega-pixel camera function with a Dual Flash, Auto-focus and Face & Smile Detection along with Geo-tagging and a Picture Album allowing the user to store all their captured photo's how they want to.
There is also a video function that will capture up to 30 frames per second with a selection of editing features plus DivX and Xvid codec support for the user to enjoy. Video playback modes include MPEG4, H263, H264 and WMV9. Users can enjoy participating in 3G video calls with other users with same capabilities. All of the mentioned features enable the user to capture and record fantastic videos and snap shots.
Samsung S8300 Tocco Ultra – Internet & Connectivity
Users can access the internet via the built-in WAP 2.0, HTML and XHTML web browsing technologies. The 3G HSDPA, GPRS and EDGE technologies provide a speedy and quality of service to the user. The Tocco Ultra operates on a Quad-band network which covers GSM – 850/900/1800/1900 and HSDPA – 2100 providing the roaming facility enabling the user the full use of their handset whilst abroad. Connecting to other compatible devices is a straightforward process with the provided Bluetooth with A2DP and USB technologies.
Samsung Tocco Ultra – Music Entertainment
There is a great built-in music player system on the Samsung S8300 mobile phone allowing users to listen to their favourite tunes. Supported music file formats include MP3, AACand WMA files. A built-in FM Radio with RDS is also present on the Tocco Ultra which provides visual radio information to the user. The user can make their Samsung S8300 mobile phone sound stylish and unique with a selected ring-tone and can choose from the available tones which include MP3 and Polyphonic ring-tones. There is only 80 mega-bytes of internal user memory but this can be increased up to a massive 16 gigabytes with a MicroSD memory card. This will provide a huge amount of storage space for all the users videos, photo's, music files and downloads.

Keep in touch with friends and family with a choice of messaging services as the Samsung S8300 provides its user with SMS, MMS (multi-media) and Emailing. The Tocco Ultra provides its user with the predictive text input technology, which enables the user to type out a text message in much quicker time, which of course saves time.

Another form of entertainment are the Preloaded and Java games available on the handset enabling the user to kick the boredom and have some fun and light entertainment.

Okay, but seen betterText messaging sorted at last when you have made an error just tap the screen on the text and a box appears at the bottom with left, right, up and down arrows this allows you to move to where you want to be. Now I am happy with the phone.

Don't buy it 
I find this phone so annoying! I wish I had just sent it back. To text is very frustrating someone else has already mentioned the cursor problem. Also the predictive text is awful, it seems to have a mind of its own, there's a drop down menu where you are supposed to select the word you want but the touch screen isnt very accurate so it will select the wrong word. It then won't go back and let you highlight the word to replace it, you have to delete letter by letter and do it all again! I've also hung up on people as the 'end call' (touchsreen button) is right where your ear is...so if your holding the phone between your head and shoulder you cut people off. I also tried to use the normal keypad for a while but that was a joke too. When on calls to company's where you have to select numbers from their menus a lot of the time the manual keypad doesn't work. The only thing I like about this phone are the pictures. The internet is ok but again the touchscreen makes it a bit awkward.

Don't buy it Really cool, but as a phone it makes a good camera. A weak aerial means you can't get a signal when someone on the same network stood next to you can.
Awful for texting. There's no way of moving the text cursor left or right, you have to touch the screen, which is nigh-on impossible as it's so insensitive.
Avoid like the plague. Wish I'd kept my D900.

Don't buy it Sending it back! Really not user friendly. The number of steps just to set up a new text message or other simple things is rediculous. The widget is just an annoyance, and blocks the screen when you want to open a new message. A simple menu button wouldn't go ammiss either. Internet browser and photos change orientation every other second thereby stopping you actually looking at what you want, great idea but rubbish in practice.
So much wrong with usability of this phone!
