Samsung T459 Gravity – Low end phone Ideal for texting
The Samsung T459 Gravity is a smart looking slide phone which is being released in conjunction with the Samsung T919 Behold. The T459 handset is ideal if you are a heavy user of texting as it has a full size QWERTY keyboard, the gravity is a mid ranged phone so will therefore be reasonably priced and exclusive to T-Mobile. The Samsung T459 features a 2.1 inch LCD screen with TFT display, we have seen bigger but those phones usually have the price tag to match. The T459’s screen uses 256,000 colours and 170 x 220 pixel resolution so the screen is clear and colourful when viewing. You can fit the Samsung t450 neatly in your hand or pocket as the phone measures 11.43cm x 5.33cm x 1.78cm and weighs 121.9 grams which is about average. There are two colour choices with this phone, white with aqua or grey with lime and they look quite nice in those combinations. You will get up to 6hrs talk time and up to 300hrs standby time when full charged. The QWERTY keyboard slides out when you slide the phone to the right and the keys are raised and rounded so it is one of the easiest QWEERTY keyboards we have seen to use.
Samsung T459 Gravity – Camera & Imaging
If you love taking pictures and look at your phone as a digital camera replacement then the Samsung Gravity is probably not for you as it only features a 1.3 MP camera. Photos can be snapped in 6 different resolutions, these are 220x165, 320x240, 640x480, 800x600, 1024x768 and finally 1280x1024. Some of the features of the camera are zoom, multi shot, timer and night mode so you can get the best from your photos. It also lets you edit your picture after it is taken, so you can change the colour to black and white if you want. You also have a built-in video camera so you can capture video footage to send in a message or email and you can record for an unlimited time until your memory is full, which to be honest will not be long unless you insert a MicroSD™ card. You can record in 3 resolutions 128x96, 160x120 and 176x144.
Samsung T459 Gravity – Internet & Connectivity
Browse the internet on your T459 gravity as the phone has a wireless web browser which supports EDGE and GPRS web browsing technology. You can download web pages onto your phone which is cool and with access to T Zone which is exclusive to T mobile you can customise your phone with wallpapers and real tones, or even find out the latest gossip or sports results plus a lot more. Also the T459 gravity has Bluetooth which allows you to transfer data such as music to other compatible devices. Or you can transfer data such as files and photos using the USB cable which is compatible with devices such as laptops or printers. The phone works on GSM 850/900/1800/1900 network so you can easily use your phone whilst abroad. On the negative side the Gravity does not support 3G, WLAN or Infrared connectivity, although infrared is a bit out dated now.
Samsung T459 Gravity – Messaging & Applications
There are lots of ways you can keep in contact with friends or family on your gravity as there is an array of messaging choices these include text, voice SMS, MMS and IM (instant messaging). You also have email which supports AOL, Yahoo, MSN and Windows live and even set up a POP3 account, and the good thing about this phone is you don't have to have an internet package to get your emails so you won't have to go on your pc or laptop to get them! Also with the slide out QWERTY keyboard it makes texting and emailing quicker and easier. Some of the applications on the Samsung gravity are an organiser, voice memo and myFaves capable.
Samsung T459 Gravity – Music & Gaming
Use your mobile phone as your MP3 player as the gravity has a built-in music player that supports MP3, MIDI and AAC/AAC+ audio formats. So you can listen to your favourite music which you can download off the internet or from T zones quickly and easily, it's a shame there is no radio though. Choose your favourite tune as your ringtone as the gravity has MP3 and preloaded polyphonic ringtones. If you like playing games then you will be pleased to hear the T459 comes with preloaded games and demos as well as supporting Java (J2ME) so you can down load games to suite your tastes.
Store all your photos, videos, music and games on the Samsung T459 gravity's internal memory which has 60 megabytes or, as the phone has a memory card slot you can boost the external memory to 4 gigabytes with a MicroSD™ memory card.
Samsung T459 Gravity – Summary
This is a great handset if you are a messaging addict as it has the QWERTY keyboard and a variety of messaging services. It is a low end phone and it is a shame the camera was not better as that would make it more appealing, but overall I would say this is a nice phone and is great if you are on a budget.
