Sony Ericsson C702i
Sony Ericsson C702i
The Sony Ericsson C702i Cybershot 3G mobile phone is another new phone for 2008 to be released into Sony Ericsson’s C range. The C702i has a 3.2 megapixel camera, not quite as good as the C902i which has a 5 Megapixel camera or the stunning Sony Ericsson C905 which its amazing 8.1 megapixel camera. The C702i is 16mm thick which is about average by todays standards. It weighs in at 107 grams(3.7oz), could be said to be heavy for a candy bar phone but light compared to the 3G smart phones like the Nokia N96 which are on the market. The SE C702i has a 2 inch TFT screen (240 x 320 pixels) and uses 262,144 colours to ensure your pictures look up to scratch when viewing them on the mobile phone. Sony Ericsson have given the user two colours to chose from when purchasing this phone, a cool cyan or speed black. Pictured to the top left is the cool cyan colour. This phone is suitable for anybody who has an active lifestyle and likes the outdoors as it is scratch and splash resistant. This does not mean you can drop it in the bath but it will withstand the odd rain shower.
Sony Ericsson C702i – Cyber-Shot™ Camera
The C702i features a 3.2 megapixel Cyber-Shot™ camera which is the main focus of this mobile phone. The Automatic focus will ensure your images have the optimal clarity. The digital zoom of up to 2x will help when attempting to snap objects in the distance. If you have taken a photo which you think is not quite up to scratch you can select the Photo Fix feature which will attempt to optimize the contrast, light and brightness to make the photo look better. The C702i contains a photo light so your pictures can still look good even in poorly lite environments. The SE C702i supports video recording allowing you to record video clips and view them back on the 2 inch TFT screen. The dedicated camera keys and functions will ensure using the camera is a breeze. As over 70% of pictures taken contain a face you should find the Face detection feature useful. If there is a face in the viewfinder, the C702i will find it and automatically focus on it, ensuring you picture has the maximum clarity. The SE C702i also allows you to add information to a picture by using Geo tagging. This adds information to the images about your location when taking the picture. There is 150MB of internal memory with the C702i, the amount free depends on your configuration and if you decide to install more java games for example. However, support for Memory Stick Micro™ (M2) is available allowing you to increase your memory to up to 4 GB. This camera is pretty good but if you looking for an awesome camera then take a look at the Sony Ericsson C902i.
Sony Ericsson C702i – Media player
The SE C702i has the same built in media player as the C902i. The C702i features a built-in FM radio offering full RDS support. You can assign album art to an album that you have downloaded to your mobile phone. If you purchase a Bluetooth™ stereo headset with your C702i you can play music wirelessly to your headset, meaning you mobile phone can stay in your pocket. You can assign one of your tunes to be your ringtone providing it is in ACC or MP3 format. Retrieving album or artist information is made easy with the C702i. Using TrackID™ which downloads album information over the network. The C702i ensures you music has body by using MegaBass™ which enhances the bass frequency.
The SE C702i supports full internet access via its Access NetFront™ web browser. Web feeds can be subscribed too ensuring the latest news gets to your mobile phone as it happens. Internet on your mobile phone has never really been up to scratch until now which the introduction of 3G HSDPA high speed internet. This will allow your C702i to transfer data up to a speed of 3.6 MB/sec allowing video calls and streaming to now be a viable solution. The C702i is quad band supporting GSM 850, 900, 1800 and 1900 meaning it will work across the world as long as you have roaming activated. All messaging services including SMS, MMS, email and instant messaging are supported by the Sony Ericsson C702i. When you battery is full charged you should be able to get around 7 hours talk time or 300 hours standby time, although video calling will kill you battery in 90 minutes. Were hoping battery life time will be the next big improvement for 2009.
