Sony Ericsson C902i – We love the camera

The Sony Ericsson C902i Cybershot 3G mobile phone is the latest offering from Sony Ericsson into their C Range. Other mobile phones in this range is the Sony Ericsson C702i and the Sony Ericsson C905 with its amazing 8.1 megapixel camera. The C902i main feature is the 5 megapixel camera which really is ‘best in class’. The C902i is of block dimensions, 108 x 49 x 11mm and weights 107g or 3.8oz if you prefer. This is quite a slim mobile phone and not too heavy considering the functions that are packed inside it. There is an internal antenna and navigation is via its 5-way keypad. To view the stunning photos you will be able to take with this phone Sony Ericsson have installed a 2 inch (240 x 320 resolution) TFT QVGA display which is made super bright by using 262k colours.

Sony Ericsson C902i – Camera

The C902i features a 5 megapixel Cyber-Shot™ camera which is the main feature in this mobile phone. When you slide open the lens cover the 5 MP camera is automatically activated. There are on screen touch keys allowing you to easily adjust the camera settings. The C902i comes with Face detection that when activated, will automatically focus on the face in the picture. This is very useful as 70% of photos taken have a face as the main object. Poor light won’t hold you back either when using the C902i as the built-in flash will automatically fire when the light begins to fade. The flash can be used for videos and in BestPic™ mode. When BestPic™ mode is activated the 5 megapixel camera will take 9 photos, one after the other with just one click of the camera button. You can then keep the pictures you like and delete the ones that did not come out too well. The camera has 16x digital zoom meaning no object should be too far away and red eye reduction means the people in your snaps will not look like vampires! The image stabilizer feature ensures your pictures do not come out blurred if your hand moves slightly when taking the photo. If you think one of your photos could be better select the Photo Fix feature which will automatically adjust the light, brightness and contrast to make the picture look as good as possible. The SE C902i has an Accelerometer function which is an auto rotate feature. You can enjoy your photos in both portrait or landscape mode, simple rotate the phone and the picture will adjust its mode, portrait when the phone is held vertically and landscape when the phone is held horizontally. There is 160 megabytes of internal memory with the C902i although the amount of actual free memory will depend on how you configure the phone. PictBridge™ is supported by the C902i allowing users to print directly to a printer that also supports the PictBridg™ software. Memory can be extended using the Memory Stick Micro™ (M2™). An 8GB stick should cost no more than £35 and will store upto 2000 songs, or 5000 high-res pictures. Or if you like you video than up to 5 hours of high quality MPEG 4 videos will fit on this card. Is it just me or are Apple dead and buried with the iPod!!

Sony Ericsson C902i – Media player

The C902i features a built-in FM radio offering full RDS support. The album art feature allows you to choose music to play by browsing CD album covers or other images assigned to an album. Music can be played over a wireless network to your headset using Bluetooth&trade stereo. You can also use a song one your C902i as the ringtone as long as its in MP3 or AAC format. The built in TrackID™ allows you to retrieve album and artist information over the network within a few seconds. MegaBass™ enhances the bass frequency to give your music more body.
