Sony Ericsson R306i – Music mobile phone
The Sony Ericsson R306i is predominantly music and radio focused mobile phone that comes in a clamshell design casing. The R306i comes in a choice of two coloured casings which include gorgeous Coffee Black and an attractive Lustrous White both of which are very stylish and cool looking. The Sony Ericsson R306i comprises a 1.9 inch TFT internal screen displaying up to 65K colours with 128 x 160 pixel resolutions making for a clear and colourful viewing. The external screen is a Mono display screen with 96 x 32 pixel resolutions. For a clamshell designed mobile phone the Sony Ericsson R306i is a fantastic compact size and weighs a fairly light 93g. The dimensions consist of 90mm x 48mm x 16mm which will feel nice and comfortable in the user’s hand. The Sony Ericsson R306i comes from the R series of phones which include the SE R300i. On a single full charge the user can expect to receive up to a massive 9 hours of talk time and 410 hours of stand-by time.
Sony Ericsson R306i – Music & Radio Player
The built-in radio and music player of the Sony Ericsson R306i is what this handset is all about. The user can listen to the radio in its horizontal designed position making for a real portable radio experience. The radio is FM & AM based providing a wide scope of radio stations to tune into with designated radio keys. The R306i supports popular music formats with fantastic stereo speakers that will make for an amazing music encounter. Other great features and functions that are presented on the R306i are TrackID and a radio alarm. The user can really customise and personalise their Sony Ericsson R306i with their ring-tone. The R306i supports polyphonic ring-tones with MP3 and AAC music tones. The R306i has 5 mega-bytes of internal memory (not sure why they bothered!), luckily MicroSD™ memory cards are supported which will provide the user with more storage space for all their music files and downloads.

The Sony Ericsson R306i features a 1.3 mega-pixel camera with a viewfinder display and dedicated camera menus. These capabilities will allow the user to take a quick snap spontaneously either to capture a personal moment or just a quick moment of madness. The R306i also features a video recording facility to allow the user to record moving video footage allowing the user to capture memories instantly. The user can play back their footage instantly and watch it back on the TFT display screen.
Sony Ericsson R306i – Internet & Connectivity
The Sony Ericsson R306i operates on a WAP 2.0 XHTML web browser which will allow the user to enjoy a World Wide Web internet experience whilst being absolutely anywhere on the move. The R306i works on a Tri-band network and covers GSM 900/1800/1900 providing the user with the world wide roaming facility. Connecting the Sony Ericsson R306i to other compatible devices is straight forward as the Bluetooth® and USB technologies are used to do so.

The Sony Ericsson R306i comes with all the usual messaging services that we have all become accustomed to such as; SMS, MMS (multi-media messaging) and predictive texting. New additions to this facility are an SMS long feature and a Sound recorder feature. All of these are great ways to in touch and communicate with friends and family.
Embedded Java games are provided with the SE R306i providing both amusement and entertainment for the user’s leisure. It doesn’t come with a fantastic camera or email service but all the same, it is a good phone especially for those with simplicity in mind. And as for style it is a cracking looking phone which ever colour the user chooses to own. A good mobile phone for the developing market, wouldn’t bother if you live in the UK!
