An expensive phone with a very poor build quality, very thin plastic.

Not very easy to turn on/off. The functions of the phone are great but mine suffered a software failure after 9 weeks very light usage. Vodafone declined to replace the handset and after 6 weeks have still not completed the repair.

I have had Motorola and Blackberry's for the last couple of years without any problems. I am sorry a changed and would avoid Sony Ericcson in future as I now have no confidence in the product.

Won't be buying Sony Ericsson again - second handset with common known fault that the airtime company and Sony Ericsson deny any knowledge of!  Phone freezes constantly and defaults to factory settings with a loss of all photos and music.

Seems Sony Ericsson are entirely unaware this happens - shame they've not checked the on-line reviews!

This handset is very very poor! I took out anew deal at the end of March. within 3 days the phone froze. I took it back... was given a new one and again, within 2 weeks, it froze. Now it's mid June and for the last month sending messages has been getting slower and slower. 15/20 seconds to load the new page.

It's hopeless! I would not recommend it.

RUBBISH RUBBISH RUBBISH  DO NOT BE TEMPTED

I have always had a sony ericson mobile and have come to take their usually excellent quality &performance for granted...However, this is a real cheap nasty toy that you would expect to win at a fairground.  yes sure it looks ok but it feels and performs terribly.  As a walkman the sound is cheap tinny and very high end.  The build is flimsy and very plasticky.  Back in the box within a few hours and sending straight back.
Absolute rubbish!!!

Good so far, only had it a few days now but I know how scarce user reviews are so I'm doing mine now. I decided to take the plunge despite have a W910i for 18 months that constantly turned itself off, this is a well known fault but one which SE refused to admit and failed to fix, and one which i tollerated as i loved it so much.

The W715 looks suspiciously similar to the W910 in most resects so it is a reasonable assumption that at least some of the insides may be the same. Low and behold on the first day it turned itself off twice, however thats 3 days ago now and touch wood hasn't happened since. In all honesty I love the phone, and even if it occasionally crashes I will probably stick with it.

Walkman function as good as ever, although no progress since the W910 really. Camera much better, the flash light is back but this can only be turned on with several button clicks whilst in camera mode (I loved the torch function on my old W810).

Wifi brilliant, also 3G internet good (£5 a month unlimited internet with Vodafone). To be fair though I've never used a mobile phone on the internet so its probably just the novelty value for me. Automatically configured itself to my BT Internet email account in seconds.

In terms of looks and build, its a massive improvement on the plasticy 910, nice brushed alu front, rubberised back and new gold coloured details rather then the traditional Walkman orange. Comes with 4gb memory card but i kept my old 8gb one anyway.

Can't comment on the GPS as it is not included in my internet allowance so haven't used it, bit of a scam really but i have satnav anyway and they say if you use it for 30 mins it costs about £0.80 so ok for emergencies.

Overall its a cracking phone, my only doubt is reliability hence 4 stars but I'll come back in a few momths and update.
