HTC finally announced the launch of its much awaited HD7, which is said to be supporting the advanced new operating system of Windows Phone 7. The prequel of this one, HTC HD2 was sleek and beautifully engineered, which captured a large market for sometime, post its release. The handset was considered perfect, its operating system, which was Windows mobile 6.5, a version behind the brand new Windows 7 from the house of Microsoft. This is why, when the rumor mills first leaked the news about the pending arrival of the HTC HD7, we expected it to have the style and technology of HD2, coupled with the new operating system of Widows Seven. The expectations of gadget lovers were highly thwarted by the model which was way different from HD2.
HTC HD7- Multimedia Features:
As seen earlier, in the case of the four previous handsets HTC has released in the market, the main focus was on some particular section. In HD7, as the name implies, the main focus is on the multimedia features. The handset is solely dedicated to video recording, films and gaming. With HD standing for High Definition the phone has a powerful 5 Megapixel primary camera with an autofocus, and dual LED flash. With a picture resolution of 2592 x 1944 pixels, it is quite apparent that the phone can easily handle anything that is related to multimedia specifications. Though, each of the earlier models of HTC can handle these tasks efficiently, due to the close similarity between specifications, it seems that Microsoft has purposefully standardized it all. However, the striking factor about HTC HD7 is its screen, which is, so far, the largest among all the others, by a fair margin. This display has effectively made it incredible for sole viewing purposes.
This monstrous entertainment box provides its users with an epic cinematographic experience. With this one, you can watch all your favorite movies by flipping out the kickstand, and kickback to have all the fun. The handset has a powerful 720p high definition camcorder with which you can make your own movie. With its incredible detailed picture quality, you can change your family and friends into stars and edit it in your movie. You can further enhance the picture quality with the help of one touch. This application allows you to add a series of effects into the photographs to create a unique masterpiece. Those who are fond of photography can try this out to create a photographic magnum opus of their own. To adjust the brightness and colour balance of the camera, you can use the auto enhance preset.
The handset, compounded with its hi-fi multimedia features is good for entertainment. It has already earned the nickname of Entertainment Box due to its high leveled multimedia performance. With the help of Xbox LIVE, you can see the fastest action coming alive on the 4.3 inche screen. Wide assortment of games is available in the XBOX LIVE, where you can try before investing. The graphic of these games are also class ahead. Rest assured, the picture and video quality of HTC HD7 is simply superb.
HTC HD7- Hardware Features:
The phone features a powerful 1GHz processor which will support files of all types with ease, without any straining at all. Programs like Xbox Live, Internet browser, Zune Music hub, etc. gets loaded promptly due to the powerhouse processor operating inside. However, it has to be admitted that, with each of the tiles smoothly and brightly animated, the Windows Phone 7 is befitting for this handset than its prequels under HTC. HTC ‘s Sense followers will be sad to learn that Microsoft has passed a strict rule that the operating systems under the company cannot be implemented so easily. So, in place of animated home screens, people will get to see tiles existing for each bit of the software on Android™ devices. Even stocks and shares, weather updates, sports scores, etc. will have similar patterns.
HTC HD7- Exterior
HTC HD7 has a wide stretch of 4.3 inch display, which is just perfect for movie and video viewing. A highly responsive touch screen with S-LCD capacitive looks stunning on the black body. Weighing about 162 grams, with a dimension of 122 x 68 x 11.2mm, HD7 can be large in size than the rest, but cannot definitely be considered excessively fat. The phone is light weight, compared to its size, and is quite ergonomic to hold.
HTC HD7- Memory Storage
The phone has a maximum of 16 GB storage capacity. The model can also be bought with a minimum capacity of 8GB, internal memory. While, this sounds poor to many, and very pitiful, in comparison to the huge memory of the iPhone models, this one will be able to store enough multimedia content. One very useful feature of the phone is its facility of dragging and dropping data. Thus, when content cannot be transferred through any other devices like Bluetooth, USB, etc., this feature can help, without the need of removing a wire.
The phone has been striking in many aspects, but has failed to meet the expectations of the people in many ways. Such a high-end phone is expected to have a minimum internal memory of 32GB like all the other handsets of similar genre. This one has just half that space, which is quite disappointing. Being primarily a multimedia handset, a fairly large memory would have supported storing of heavy, large sized multimedia files. More importantly, it does not have a MicroSD™™ card slot.
HTC HD7- Connectivity
The handset supports both 2G and 3G network, like all high-end handsets. With support for both GPRS and EDGE Class-12, and a version 2.0 microUSB, the phone also supports Wi-Fi. With the upcoming release of HTC 7 Surround and HTC Trophy, the market acceptance of the phone is yet to be seen.
