The LG Optimus 3D P920 has been teasing the mobile phone enthusiasts with its leaked video. The promo videos about the phone are causing a stir and consumers along with tech freaks are eager to know when this handset is going to release in the UK market. It was announced in January and expected to be released in the spring of 2011. The major highlights of the phone include 3D camera and 3D video recorder with 1 GHz dual-core and dual-channel processor, which is a first for any mobile phone. The phone is powered by Android™ 2.2 Froyo, but the good news is that it can be upgraded to Android™ 2.3 Gingerbread. At Mobile World Congress 2011, many handsets were announced and displayed like Motorola PRO, SE XPERIA Neo, and Samsung Galaxy S 2. The Optimus 3D looks quite competitive among these contenders.
Those who have watched the leaked promotional video of the phone are singing its praises. This mobile phone is no less than a revolution. Generally, we need to wear unattractive glasses to watch any 3D content on the screen, but with the LG Optimus 3D you can enjoy the 3D effect with the naked eye. This is possible due to the stereoscopic LCD display. This really is something extraordinary that can change the way we experience the visual content of mobile phones. Not Only can 3D photos be taken and 3D videos made but LG have provided the Optimus 3D with a YouTube 3D app allowing the user to upload there favourite 3D videos to the YouTube gallery. If you are lucky enough to posses a 3D TV then you can also view your 3D videos on your 3D TV. Since the official announcement of the phone has been made, the detailed specifications are out. Here is a brief review of the Optimus 3D based on its specifications.
LG Optimus 3D P920- Network and ConnectivityFor any mobile the efficiency of network and connectivity features are very important. In fact, these features perform the basic functionality of the mobile phones by establishing efficiency in the communication. According to the specifications of Optimus 3D, the network features look impressive with its quad band GSM and tri band HSDPA. The 2G users can access the quad band GSM network of 850/ 900/ 1800/ 1900, while the 3G users will get support of tri band HSDPA 900/ 1800/ 1900. With such stable network options, it is expected that the users of the phone will be satisfied.
The 3D P920 Optimus also impresses with its connectivity highlights. The basic connectivity options like GPRS and EDGE are present in the handset, but for high speed browsing and other connectivity features, they are not very useful. Therefore, LG Optimus 3D P920 loads Wi-Fi® 802.11 b/g/n and 3G HSDPA that can offer speed up to 14.4 mbps. If you need to connect the mobile phone with any other compatible device for transferring data, then you can use microUSB v2.0 for wire-based connectivity or Bluetooth® v3.0 for wireless connectivity.
LG Optimus 3D Review - Memory and cameraThe mobile phones have become the most important feature for everyone. You can store every essential data or information on your handset and therefore, the storage capacity of your phone must match your requirements. Optimus 3D is a feature-rich smart phone and it can store different types of features and applications. Therefore, it is essential that the mobile phone includes a decent memory back up. The Korean company does not disappoint because the handset loads excellent internal memory support, which is 8 GB. With such huge storage, you can easily store plenty of data and information. Now, if you think that 8 GB memory is not enough for you, then you can expand the storage capacity by using microSD™ card and the maximum expandable limit is 32 GB. This is definitely huge and you will enjoy storing plenty of music, videos, applications and several other files.
The camera has become an integral feature for any mobile phone at present. LG Optimus 3D P920 also loads a good camera feature, but it is not just one camera, the handset comes with a dual 5 mega pixel camera with 2560 x 1920 pixels resolution along with efficient features such as auto focus, geo tagging, and stereoscopic images and videos. By using the camera of the phone you can also shoot videos at 1080p@24fps and 720@30fps for 2D and 3D respectively.
LG Optimus 3D - Look and DisplayThe mobile phone looks smart and stylish. Available in black, the look of the phone may not be strikingly different from the other touch screen handsets, but it is gorgeous. In the frontal portion, you will notice the dominance of the touch screen display. The logo of LG is placed on the top of the display and at the bottom you have the touch sensitive controls. These controls will give you access to the menu, home, back and search options. There ia also a 3D navigation button on the side of the Optimus 3D giving fast access to 3D Games, 3D Gallery, 3D YouTube and the 3D guide. Slightly rounded borders and smooth metallic appearance add to the sophistication factor of the handset. On the back portion, you can see the dual lenses of the camera.
The display of LG P920 is one of its biggest highlights. It comes with a large display of 4.3 inches and it is a stereoscopic LCD touch screen. As discussed above, the effect of 3D while watching videos or playing games is going to be awesome. The resolution of the display is 480 x 800 pixels and it provides the visibility of 16 million colours. The major features of the display is its LG 3D UI along with other highlights such as proximity sensor for auto turn off, accelerometer sensor for UI auto rotate, Gyro Sensor and touch sensitive controls.
LG Optimus 3D - Music and VideoOther multimedia features such as music and video options are equally efficient. The integrated music player can play MP3/ WAV/ WMA/ eAAC+ files, while the video play back can stream MP4/ DivX/XviD/ H.264/ H.263/ WMV. You can enjoy video play back at 1080p@24fps for 2D and 720@30fps for 3D. All these features make LG Optimus 3D P920 quite an interesting mobile phone to watch out for.
