Nokia always likes to surprise its followers and they are bringing in several latest devices. One such latest announcement is a member of the N Series tablets and this one is named Nokia N900. Yet another addition to the smart phone genre from the house of Nokia, but this one is special as it is not another super portable computing device. It is a high end communicator, yes, Nokia has again ventured into the arena of its successful communicators. This device is going to the first ever internet tablet from Nokia and it is named Nokia Rover. The mobile phone is operated by Linux platform Maemo 5 and it combines the power of ARM Cortex-A8 processor, PowerVR SGX with OpenGL ES 2.0 support, up to 1GB memory separated for applications, virtual memory of 768 MB, 32GB of internet storage, 3.5” touch screen, 5 mega pixel camera, etc.
The Display of Nokia N900
N900 looks as good as its efficient work. The display of the phone includes 3.5 inches TFT resistive touch screen with 16 million colours and 800 x 480 pixels resolution. The full QWERTY keyboard gives ultimate advantage in typing and text messages and sending emails, whereas the other highlights of the display includes accelerometer sensor for auto-rotate and proximity sensor for auto turn-off. The measurement of the mobile phone is 110.9 x 59.8 x 18 mm and its weight is 181 grams. From the point of view of look, it seems that Nokia N900 is quite similar to that of Nokia E75.
The Multimedia Features of Nokia N900
The multimedia features of the mobile phone are quite attractive. The handset is loaded with 5 mega pixel camera that comes with loads of excellent highlights such as CMOS sensor, Carl Zeiss optics, Autofocus, Tessar lens, dual LED flash and 3X digital zoom. There are several modes in which the snapper can shoot images. These modes are automatic, landscape, action, macro, portrait and video. The quality, resolution and colour of images are quite impressive. The video shots of the mobile phone are good also and these videos are recorded in different formats such as .MPEG-4, .mp4, and .codec. In addition, the video playback can play video files of almost every standard format such as .mp4, .avi, .3gp, wmv, Xvid, H.263, H.264 and MPEG-4.
Music is one of the major highlights of the smart phones and Nokia N900 does not let you down in this regard also. The music experience is absolutely fantastic and you can spend hours listening to your favorite tracks as the quality of sound is superior. Moreover, there is Maemo Music Player, which adds further zing to the music listening experience. The music player is capable of playing diverse music files such as MP3, WMA, WAV and eAAC+.
Nokia N900 is very enjoyable in terms of gaming also. The mobile comes with default games such as Chess, Bounce and Mahjong, but different games can be downloaded and installed in the device to enjoy immaculate gaming experience.
Memory of Nokia N900
The mobile phone has 32GB of internal storage that can be expanded up to 48GB by using microSD™ card that allows expandable memory up to 16 GB. Adding up 32 GB and 16 GB, the user can access immaculate memory capacity of up to 48 GB. Thus, the user can load extensive number of music, video and image files along with several games also.

Surfing internet gives a fabulous experience in Nokia N900. Mozilla powers the web browser and it gives all the same experience of using internet in a desktop. With Adobe Flash 9.4 support, interactive applications and online videos can be enjoyed at their best. Thus, Nokia N900 gives complete flawless internet access.

With Wi Fi and HSPA, Nokia N900 provides its user with 24/7 connectivity. Moreover, the device packs the power of ARM Cortex-A8 CPU like the other high end smart phones such as samsung-omnia-hd, palm-pre and Apple iPhone. With 256 mega bytes of RAM, the device offers smooth hardware graphics acceleration. It is very easy to switch between the applications of Nokia N900. The home screen can be personalized as per the requirements with different widgets, applications and other shortcuts.
Nokia N900 is powered by Li-Ion 1320 mAh (BL-5J) standard battery. The device is loaded with one of the most prominent feature in the world of smart phones that is GPS. Moreover, there are integrated FM tuner, GPRS, HSPA, EDGE, WCDMA, Bluetooth® 2.0, and Geo-tagging.

In spite of all the advantages this device features, the major limitation factor is its price. The price of the phone is expected to be around 500 euros without any subsidies and taxes. The price is quite high and it is to be seen what Nokia does to retain it in the highly competitive market of mobile phones. The device is expected to hit the market in October 2009.
