The mainstream class of the mobile phones has upgraded as the users can now avail reasonably good devices and great features at the affordable price range. Having a good camera, wi fi or even 3G are not just limited with the feature-rich smart phones. The mid-range phones are also incorporating such features and the Samsung S5620 Monte is one of them. This attractive mobile phone looks like a winner with the combination of 3 inches capacitive touch screen, 3.2 mega pixel camera, latest TouchWiz interface, WQVGA resolution, GPS, etc. The images of the Samsung S5620 Monte are flashed all over the internet, and it looks quite attractive. It brings the AMOLED type screen and there are possibilities of a second quarter release.
Look wise the phone bears a resemblance like the other s series phones like Samsung S5560 and Samsung S3650 Corby. However, it has everything that can make it another successful mobile phone by the company. We need to wait till the phone gets released in the market and check out the kind of response it gets.

Samsung S5620 Monte Review - Display
The look is one of the most important aspects of a mobile phone. A phone might come with extra ordinary features, the chances of the likings by the users decrease, if the phone is not attractive. So, let’s take a look at the external appearance of the Samsung S5620 Monte. Almost the 90% of the frontal part of the mobile phone features the touch screen display. On top of the screen, the logo of Samsung is placed and at the bottom of the screen, you will find the menu button (at the centre), and the call key and end key. When you turn the phone reverse, you can see the camera lens, which is at the top-middle portion. Just under the lens, the logo of Samsung is encrypted. The design is quite sleek and the port for USB connectivity and the charger point are provided on the side. Now, let's check out the dimension of the mobile phone. Monte by Samsung measures 108.8 x 53.7 x 12.4 mm, and it weighs just 92 grams. So, it is quite easy and convenient to carry. Let's get back to the display features of the mobile phone and find out some details. The display screen is a 3.0 inch TFT capacitive touch screen that can provide 256,000 colours and a resolution of 240 x 400 pixels. The prominent highlights of the display of S5620 Monte are TouchWiz UI 2.0 Plus, Smart unlock, Turn to mute, and Accelerometer sensor for auto rotate.
Samsung Monte - Memory
To enjoy the best of features and applications to the fullest, memory support must be good in a mobile phone. A mobile phone might be capable of excellent applications such as gaming and music player, but the memory is limited. Low memory will not serve the purpose of such high-end features as the users will not be able to perfectly use the features and applications. For example, there is no point of having a fantastic music player if the mobile phone has got an insufficient memory. The user will not be able to load enough tracks as the device will be out of memory. So, let’s see where Samsung S5620 Monte lives up to the requirement of good memory support or not. It provides a 227 MB of internal memory that is capable of maintaining call records the phone book entries. This much of memory is definitely not enough for a mobile phone like Monte, and therefore, it provides an expandable memory option with the microSD™ card slot. The memory can be expanded up to 16 GB, which is quite good for supporting the diverse applications.
Samsung Monte Review - Camera
Samsung S5620 Monte is loaded with quite a decent camera feature. It sports a 3.15 mega pixel camera that provides the resolution of 2048x1536 pixels in the captured shots. Though, in terms of mega pixels, it could have been higher. The added features of the camera are geo tagging and smile detection. With the geo tagging feature, the users can maintain a track on the place where the shots are taken. Smile detection is a fabulous feature that comes with almost every digital camera these days. S5620 Monte has integrated the feature, which enables the camera to take images whenever the person in front of the camera smiles. The camera of the mobile phone is also capable of recording videos at QVGA @15fps and there is a secondary camera as well.

Rating: out of 5.
I was initially impressed with the handset, however, after a while icons from my home screen start disappearing and i get no pop ups whenever i receive a text message! Can be very frustrating. The only way around is to constantly turn the phone off and on again! Texting can also be quite slow. There is no flash on the camera. Unfortunalty i am stuck with this handset for 2 years!!!
Regret choosing this model!!

When I first received the handset I was quite impressed and liked it. The wifi and 3G are good and the menu relatively easy to navigate. Texting was a problem at first as I've been used to Nokia phones but I've got used to it and it isn't too bad though still not as intuitive or as responsive as I'd like.
I've now had it 3 months and I wish I'd chosen a different handset. The battery life which started out well has now got to the stage where I have to charge it daily if it's on standby and more if I use it. The Kies software that comes with the phone is slow, unresponsive and I've given up trying to use it; probably the worst piece of software I've ever had the misfortune of using. I've also found the menu system to be frustrating. This is probably because I have large fingers but it seems to be taking longer and longer to respond and at times opening menus or changing screens different to those that I was attempting to open.
The calendar feature (which I my old phone I used a lot) is not helpful. I've tried numerous ways to synchronise it with my computer (including Kies above) and have yet to find a way that works consistently. When I have got the calendar on the phone the event list takes you to the earliest event (which could be years ago depending on how many entries are in your calendar) and creating new events and editing existing ones is time consuming.
In all a good phone to start off with but the more you use it and get used to it the more flaws become apparent.

apart 4m cap touch screen &gesture control
nothing is great. no flash, does not play youtube
videos, no app on home site, kies does not support app install of app, no smart search,
internet browsing worse, 'page too large' is what appears mostly, cant record call, restarts
by itself at times and memory settings goes to
phone memory, just do not fall for its screen

Not bad, there are better out there but its inexpensive when compared to others
Has both 3G+ and Wi-Fi which is a nice touch, quite quick for checking email and streaming video!
The camera isn't bad but is lacking a flash, the battery is ok, but could be better.
The music player is useless if you want to browse through your music as there are no search options all you can do is scroll. I just set up 5 playlists and left it at that.
Im struggling to find any ddecent 'widgets' or 'apps' that I want. Google mail and maps are good but the facebook app is rubbish.
I didn't pay a lot for the phone so I didn't expect a ground breaking smartphone, Im quite happy with what ive got

I AM VERY DISAPPOINTED WITH THIS PHONE. I HAVE HAD A DAILY MESSAGE ON SCREEN OF NO SIM MODE FOR THE PAST FIVE DAYS. oNE SHOULD NOT HAVE TO KEEP TAKING THE SIM OUT EVERY FEW MINUTES.I CONTACTED THE ORANGE SHOP WHERE I PURCHASED IT FROM AND THEY WERE NOT AT ALL SYMPATHETIC TO MY PLIGHT. I ASKED THEM IF I COULD CHANGE IT FOR ANOTHER MODEL CONSIDERING THAT I HAD ONLY HAD IT THREE WEEKS BUT THEY STATED "YOU WILL GET USE TO IT". I FIND THIS UNACCEPTABLE AS I NOW HAVE TO KEEP IT FOR 24 MONTHS. SO ANYONE THINKING ABOUT PURCHASING IT, REMEMBER THAT YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO CHANGE IT ONCE YOU HAVE SET UP YOUR PAYMENT PLAN.

Dear viewers,
This Phone is Good in lots of things like it has 3G video calling options and cheap.
But i felt very bad after buying this phone.
1. Text cannot be copied and pasted. 3g support need this.
2.to browse the music files stored in memory card we can only scroll. no search options. after playing a song and when we click back it goes again to first song. if i need to play 254th song i will have to keep scrolling all the 254 songs. No search by name - option.
3. FM radio reception is just for name sake. when signal strength is slightly weak lots of noises come.
No auto tuning facility from earphone available like other phones.
No SKYPE SUPPORT.
Only hope is it has video calling facility. but i dont know what happens when i get 3G facility active.
Only GOD knows how this phone will help me. Go for Some other mobile manufacturers. Price Rs.10,000/- is waste.
Display failed in one month and still waiting to get a spare from company to get serviced. Waiting for 2 weeks. bad customer service in Chennai. Service centers dont get spares easily.

I love this phone. my girlfriend and I got one each and we are both over the moon with this phone. the features are amazing. got it from o2 and got iron man the full film on an SD card and it plays perfect. The most annoying thing is waiting for my tariff to change so i can get free internet and start using it to its full potential. Keep it up samsung

Just drag ur fingers once on the mp3 player screen, and shuffle, repeat options will appear. Quite amazing this is not written in the manual of monte phone. Further, phone is excellent. Camera quality is gud, sound quality is amazing, better than sony. Howver, some how I feel the O.S is not upto the mark. Whenever, you receive any bluetooth content, it doesn’t ask you if you want to see the file, it saves the file automatically as per the extension. Further, will update the page as per the future issues… http://www.cdmacellulars.com

Loving the Samsung Monte. What makes this a pucka phone for me is the TouchWiz and Accelerometer. Would of gave it 5 stars if the camera was slightly better. Ive just got the monte with a free xbox too, can't complain at that!
