About Windows Phone 7
Windows Phone 7 operating system was announced at the Barcelona Mobile World Congress in Feb 2010. It is a system designed by Microsoft to run off the back of their Windows Mobile platform. It offers it's users a range of services as well as an operating system along with a brand new user interface. WP7 was launched in Australasia and Europe in October 2010 with the US release date expected in November 2010 with Asia to follow in 2011.

- Restrictions on Content
Microsoft will have very strict control over the hardware that runs on Windows Phone 7 including all applications. Microsoft will not allow any porn, violence or nudity including any male or female genitalia that is borderline adult content. The user can search anything they like using the web browser but all applications will have very strict rules. - Start Screen & Tiles
One of the first aspects is your home screen, you can choose to have a number of Live Tiles that allow you to keep important information available. You can have appointments, missed calls, messages, Facebook updates and even the latest news and weather reports updated automatically via wireless internet. It is entirely up to you what information you have on your home screen. - Email & Internet
Reading your emails has never been so easy as Windows Phone 7 OS supports all of the major email account providers including Yahoo, Gmail and Windows Live. You can read important emails, delete in bulk the junk emails and search for an important email you have been waiting for. All of your internet needs are catered for with Windows Phone 7 you can have up to 6 tabs open at once. You can call a phone number on a website, map the addresslocation or save a photo. You can also have a tile on your Start Screen linking you to all of your favourite websites - Find My Phone
A really great innovative aspect to Windows Phone 7 OS is if you loose your phone you can go on to Windows Live from a computer and this allows you to lock, call and delete information on your phone. You can put a please return note on your Start Screen and see your phones location on a map. - Calendar
For those of you that are forgetful and tend to double book appointments then the calendar will be of great use to You. Microsoft have made it colour coded allowing you to see where you have appointments booked and where there are important dates like birthdays and anniversaries. If you are running late for a meeting you can send an automatic I am running late text that informs the person you are due to meet. - Hubs
The Hubs part of your Windows Phone 7 mobile phone allows you to integrate with social networking sites like Facebook using a live feed, allowing you to make comments on friends statuses or update your own and change you profile picture. - Pictures
As well as being able to store your own photos taken with the camera (minimum of 5 mega-pixels in all Windows Phone 7 mobiles) you can store your friends photos that have been uploaded via Facebook You can also add photos to your own Facebook profile very easily. - Games
Windows Phone 7 OS brings you Xbox Live straight to your mobile phone. You will have your very own Avatar that you can use to view leaderboards, gamescores, Spotlight and messaging Xbox Live friends. There we be 50 games to choose from including guitar hero. - Music & Video
You can stream all your favourite music and videos to your phone via Marketplace, there will be a charge for some content which can be paid for with a debit/credit card or charged on to your mobile phone bill. With all Windows Phone 7 mobile phones having large screens you can watch your favourite films and TV programmes on your phone.
Overall we think Windows Phone 7 Operating System is great for business users and social users and with loads of great mobile phones with WP7 being released from HTC, Samsung and LG you have plenty to choose from.
